im a hardcore gamer ownin a PS3, but i dont hate the Wii, i wanna get one...

I don't like the Wii because it is basically mocking me. Controller/graphic suck, and alot Nintendo's first party games have been simplified from previous iterations to appeal to a new cusual/newb audience. In addition, Nintendo gets great sucess for borderline abandoning me, the previously loyal Nintendo fan, and despite their success, they barely get any more games I like than last gen. At this point in their life, I liked the GC more than the Wii.

So my point on the wii fit is your paying just under $200 for a board to stand on and do mild/light exercises. when you can just pay for a gym membership and get better exercises such as treadmills, stationary bikes, weights, etc.

 

i just had to pay metacritic a visit, what i saw made me laugh a little.

list of PS3 games over 90%

1. GTA4 - sequel

2. COD4 - sequel

3. MGS4 - sequel

4. oblivion - sequel

5. rockband - new IP

LBP and White Knight Chronicles are new IPs that will be good. Last gen Nintendo brought a few new ideas to the table. This gen all their new ideas are "Wii ____" and all of them are terrible, with the excpetion of Wii sports, which I personally never really like bout thought was an okay 7/10 game due to being something new.

Just because you don't like a game don't assume it's terrible.  Things like Lost:Via Domus are terrible while games like Wii Fit just aren't your taste.

The only reason the Wii is not considred hardcore is because they do not have Rare making games for it.

Rare defined the N64 library and made it rock solid.
The GC didn't have a Rare of its own.
The Wii's "Rare" is coming. It could be Marvelous Entertainment, Sega, or High Voltage (that's a super stretch, I know).

Thing is though.....Sony/M$ don't rehash their games over and over and over and over....

 

 

and over and over and over and over and over again. I guarantee you won't see an MGS16 20 years from now.....yet Nintendo has consistently redone Mario, Metroid, Mario Kart, etc. for over 20 years. And I bet that they'll STILL be making those SAME games 20 years from now. I think that's the point he was trying to get at. Don't try and hop on current sequels, when Nintendo has done NOTHING but make sequels since the 80s. Geez....change it up a little. You don't see Sony still shitting out Crash Bandicoots

Okay, I need you to do me a favor. I need you to actually play some of the games you're criticizing before you criticize them. It's radical, I know, but had you done so you may have realized that Mario, Metroid, Zelda et. al. don't play anywhere near the same as they did 20 years ago. Let us contrast the change between, say, Super Mario World and Super Mario Galaxy with the differences between Halo and Halo 3, for instance, or Grand Turismo and Grand Turismo (4? 5? Whichever number we're on now).

Which one has changed more?

I hate they wii because I spend 250$ on a game-less dust collector of the last gen.
