11 million for the 2008 fiscal year. Total would be 16.5 million since they shipped 5.5 million for the 2007 fiscal year.

 Oh, that does change things; I forgot that much of Sony's volume had shipped last year. That mark will be much harder to reach.

I believe Sony predicted 11 million for the fiscal year alone at their last fiscal year-end report, and this is a reconfirmation that they intend to ship 11 million in the fiscal year alone.

If its only 11 million total... Ouch... They wanted to sell 6 million by the end of March and reached 5.5 shipped. Following that up with 5.5 million the whole next year isn't exactly impressive.

I think 8 million by the end of 07 sold and 9 million at the end of fiscal year.

This is if Killzone 2, Final Fantasy XIII and MGS 4 are not out by March 2008 and if there isn't another price cut.

If 11 million as an overall total this fiscal year. Yes, Its possible.

11 mil. just this year is a huge strech.

If he means 11 million in 12 months, they must have one hell of a strategy for xmas. Or hes aware of another price cut that will come before the due date.

The problem is they've also comitted to only losing $500 million for the gaming division for the fiscal year as well. Maybe it's possible, but I'm not seeing any scenario where both happens short of a miracle. I'll be the first to say how wrong I was if they accomplish it.

 SCE as a whole, so alot depands on how the newer cheeper to produce PS2 and the newish PSP sales.

Correct. If they other divisions can garner enough profit (PS2 reduction in parts, as well PSP redesign), they can stand to lose a bit more on the PS3 venture. I'm convinced that the 80GB PS3 bundle they'll be releasing in August will break even or give them a bit of profit on each sale. It's cheaper to produce than the 60GB, and at the $600 price point.

I kinda doubt they'll be able to ship 16.5 million PS3's by end of Fiscal year though. 11 million total shipped seems more feasible.
