one-time fee. it's just a stupid internet browser I never used it anyway. I just play games I don't care about all the extra crap.

oh I heard 6 months back when it was released that it was going to be a sem-annual fee or somethiing like that but one-time isnt bad. But dont they hit you with all those charges for the extras like Wii-Vote and crap.

Nope, Everybody Votes is also free, and will stay that way.

The only things that currently cost money online with the Wii are this browser and the Virtual Console. That's it.  They aren't nickle and diming people like the 360 is :p

Should be a one time fee of 500 points.
I was under the impression that the Browser was going to cost you 500 points regardless of whether you've downloaded it already or not. That Nintendo would somehow make the "trial" version inactive so that you needed to pay the 500 points to get the final version, but maybe they nixed that plan with already releasing a final version.

The browser itself isn't really that useful, unless you don't have a PC, but a number of sites have used the browser to add extra functionality to the Wii. Various sites offer different ways to stream audio and video on your Wii. I've tried out a couple of these and some work fairly well. Since the Wii can't really present video or let you play your own music (unless in the photo channel), the browser has gotten a lot more attention because of these sites that allow you to stream media to it.

Why would they charge you for Everybody Votes? Then it'd be Paying People Vote

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Yeah. This is kinda sad. And I just wanna point out, Opera has always been Sub-Par in comparison to Mozilla since Mozlla first came out. And mozilla has always been 100% free. PS3 uses it, and PSP uses it. Works quite nice.

I fly this flag in victory!

it's actually quite nice to watch youtube videos on the wii, my wife uses that feature a lot.

here is where HD really does come into play. browsing in 480 is ridiculous. but thankfully watching youtube videos is perfect since resolution is not an issue, and it's nice watching them in your living room instead of on a computer screen.

but i digress. again, money goes to opera... c'mon, support these startup-esque companies like opera. it's a good product.

the Wii is an epidemic.

Well it wasn't quite clear. The comment could easily be inferred to mean he's calling Nintendo cheap, which some would say for this, even if it doesn't make any sense.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Weird, they "sell" you a browser??? I heard it wasn't even as functional as the PS3's browser(which could use some help, but HAS gotten better)

Has anyone used both? just curious

I wasn't being sarcastic, anyways. I agree with Kwaad... why charge for Opera when you can get Mozilla, a better browser, for free? And if Nintendo charges for this, they ARE cheap because right now they're making the most amount of profit. Sony isn't charging for their browser at all, and they're losing a lot of money on the PS3.

well yer i know the opera browse cant play i think flash 9 video and some other codes and stuff because the licensing issue with flash 9 only being allowed to be used by developers for PC browsers.

Well that was opera's developers excue why they didn't include flash 9 (or it is 8 thats the latest can't remember now sorry).

The flash player works on the PS3, because you can view flash things on it, however, I have so far failed to manage to use YouTube on the PSP browser.

@Kwaad, you sure it's Mozilla? So the PS3's browser is actually a version of Firefox is it?

One person's experience or opinion never shows the general consensus
