Forums - Microsoft Discussion - CNET - "Why the 360 will Win!!" - Microsoft PR Working Overtime???

YES, MS is the winner but, considering Wii sales, it is obvious that ONLINE STILL DOESN'T MATTER for this console generation.

You can say that about the whole Wii/Nintendo business model. While Sony and Microsoft are waving their collective penises at each other, Nintendo's K.I.S.S. strategy for the masses have garned them the "powerhouse title" of this generation. No graphics, online features, price drops, blockbusters games, or PR is going to change that. Its called popularity mindshare and Nintendo has that in droves. Wheather or not the console actually deserves it, doesn't matter anymore, popular votes win, and there is a hell alot of "them" then there are of "us"

Now its just a race of who will end up in second place when it all said and done.

I'm just saying...

MS already won this gen. MS (with help from Nintendo) disrupted Sony dominance which is no more.

Its a valid opinion mixed with facts.

The only reason online is not a player yet is because most people who don't use it don't know what they are missing out on.

I don't see online users stopping their use of online so that trend can go only one way.

As far as his games games games point. This was true a year ago but both have strong lineups at this point so I don't think this is a valid point anymore.

Wii running out of steam...I can see that happening...

The last reason why I think he is wrong is because trends have shown that Japan and Europe still have a strong bias towards nintendo and Sony brandname hence Microsoft can dominate all they want on paper but they won't win the majority if they are blinded by the brand name.

well, this is CNet.. the mother company of Gamespot. It's pretty obvious how things work there. ;)

Yeah.  I agree.  I don't see how pissing off Nintendo AND Sony is good for advertising revenue.
