The rumor of Sony having a big ps5 event in February has me thinking that maybe the delay in the next direct may be because of it. Could Nintendo be holding off on their next direct until after this event in hopes to steal some of Sony's thunder? It would explain this long delay as we usually have a big direct by now. It would be a good  idea to keep the news from being all next gen. with a boat load of new  games. Does any else think this will happen?

I don't think Nintendo really is paying attention to that, they don't think that the PS5 will threaten the Switch or the hype of the Switch. Nintendo realizes that their games will bring hype no matter what. They'll just release their direct when they're ready to, and tbh I think it's gonna happen the 13th

Nintendo does not really care what Sony does. They released a product that people want, and make good games for it. Nothing Sony reveals is going to even dent what the Switch has going on, so why would Nintendo base anything on what Sony does?

Well no, last year's direct was mid february. So i'm assuming this year it will be similar. There has to be one in the coming weeks tho, like we have nothing passed march and they usually have medium to big games in april, may and june. I don't think they will wait till march to announce these. So 2 options :

- There is actually no games coming out for the rest of the year
- The next direct will be this week or next week. But tbh, i could feel it this week.

No. Nintendo doesn't pay attention to what Sony does when they're planning direct dates. They just cut the head off the chicken, and wherever it lands, that's the direct.
