#39: Battletoads

I know I said earlier that NES Castlevania games were too hard for me to enjoy but somehow I really really enjoyed Battletoads despite its insane difficulty. This game is engraved in my muscle memory from going through it so many times in my quest to finally beat the game (which I've done only once, no warp zones). The beat'em combat was great with fun animations like giant boots morphing from your feet when you gave a rat its last kick but the main force of this game is the variety of its stages, each of the twelves levels bring something new to the table and keep the game fresh even when you're trying to beat it for the 100th time.

#38: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD

Not the last Zelda game you'll see on this list, this title has me torn a bit because there's things I absolutely love about it: Link's expressive face, the charming graphic style, the dungeons which are some of the best of the series, the final fight with Ganondorf where you stick your sword in the middle of his forehead! Then there's the oh-so-boring Triforce fetch quest, even the shortened version of Wii U release just kills my enthusiasm for the game which is a shame because it could be much higher on my list if it weren't for that.

Don't look now, but I just put Super Mario World ABOVE Super Mario 64 in my rankings. Who else is with me here?

That's not even close to my biggest blasphemy on here, by most people's standards, that'll be happening over the course of the next week or so. Our host knows what it is, don't spoil it mZuzek. Tomorrow's game will be my only Sonic game in my top 50, there are worse blasphemies to make, but there are plenty of people out there that would have strong words about my choice.

Next hints.

38- A globetrotting story with lots of shooting and treasure finding to be had. This entry had a nice multiplayer map in the himalayas, I spent hours playing around this map compared to the others.

37- After 11 years this main entry game also got at least 3 more re releases. It started with only 16 playable characters and eventually made it to 44. The version I particularly enjoyed had 39 characters, including my favorite Tiger Shot touting fighter.

38. Uncharted 2? I barely played multiplayer, but the single player went to the Himalayas.

Yes, that is correct.

It's been a long time, so:

48. LUMBERJACK, ROCK ON, ROBIN HOOD, CHEESE STEAK JIMMY'S.
46. You don't mess with this guy 2.
45. Maybe still the best game from its genre, in this game series picking up roast chicken from a trash can you broke in the street is a very wise choice.
44. A classic platforming turned into a rpg, now on a handheld.
43. The first game to get the proper series name in the west from a flying combat franchise that got a new entry this year.
42. In this game you can play grab and spin throw enemies as an attack, you can wear a barrel or be a knight, become an alpinist and even a magician. This game was only ported to the west years later with a handheld port.
41. In this game the cars have a bit more polygons than Tesla's Cybertruck, it's the second game on its franchise.

46: God of War 2?

45: Streets of Rage... 2 I guess.

44: Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga maybe.

41: Uhh Gran Turismo 2.

Guessed by Scoobes.

The first-person shooter genre reached it's high point in the early 2000s as far as I'm concerned. There were plenty of good, story driven games oozing with originality coming out, and also many great adaptations of well known franchises. It was the transitioning period where gameplay and control became modern as they still are, but there wasn't any of excessive 'flashiness' and added fluff and buff of today's shooters. 'Star Trek Voyager - Elite Force' was one of them; a cool story set during the tv-show Star Trek Voyager, following a special 'Away Team' created for dangerous missions in the hostile Delta Quadrant of the Milky Way galaxy. The game also had an expansion pack later on, that allowed you to freely explore the starship, and do some side-missions. Basically, this game is all I'm asking any shooter to be like, it's not hard.
