The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III. Been waiting for this one to come to west for years now, but not many people seem to mention it.

I've seen it mentioned before, but I haven't heard the first thing about what it's about. What is it? Some kind of RPG? Is it like the Tales Of series?

It's a Japanese RPG. The battle system is turn-based rather than real-time like in the Tales games. The first two are among my favourite PS3 games, and the Trails in the Sky-trilogy that's a part of the same The Legend of Hereos-series are even better (At least the first two games, still haven't gotten around to playing the third).

Huh, you don't see turn based RPGs much anymore. Does it do anything to differentiate itself from other turn based battle systems? How's the writing, characters, lore, etc?

Well, the entire series has become one of my personal favourites over the last five years or so, and much of that is thanks to the story and characters. The gameplay is a lot of fun too, with nice amount of tactical depth to them as the characters aren't just standing in line waiting to take a turn, but they can be moved around in the field and their attacks have different areas of effects and other elements like that which make the battles more interesting.

Here are some Switch games that I'm looking forward to and will likely get less recognition than they deserve:

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Dragon Quest Builders 2
Dragon Quest XI S
Daemon X Machina
Delta Rune

However, just a few months ago several under-recognized games came out that I am more excited about than any of the above games:

Valkyria Chronicles 4
Civilization 6
War Groove
Katamari Damacy Reroll

There are far more games on the Switch for me to play than I have time for.  I guess that is a wonderful problem to have.

Sounds pretty cool. Is there an easy way to get caught up with the series, or is this one of those RPG series that you don't need to play every title to appreciate the latest title?

Outward...open-world "adventure life simulator" RPG.

It looks like A/AA effort, which I gravitate to and campaign can be played in online/local coop.

Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists: Atelier of the New World and Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland.

Each of the sub-series (Trails of Cold Steel, Trails in the Sky) are self-contained, but feature references to the events in the other ones. You don't need to play them all to understand what's happening as they all have mostly different characters and storylines. They just take place roughly around the same time period, but in different parts of the world. You can pretty much just pick one series to start with, but if you want to go chronologically trails in the Sky takes place a bit earlier than Trails of Cold Steel.

Hypothetical games I'm hyped for that I want? Starfox Adventures 2 and Sonic Adventures 3 or 1 and 2 remake HD. I don't see much talk on these, especially for the first.
