PS4 with Kingdom Hearts 3 and RE2? It's shouldn't have been this close, or hell, just below the Switch.

My thoughts exactly, kinda expected PS4 to obliterate Switch, especially with how relatively slow Switch's January and February have been. I guess more than anything it's a telling sign that it's time for PS5 to be ushered in. Still though, great numbers for both.  It's just a tad surprising.

It would be really weird for Switch to go from absolute domination in December to getting obliterated in January.

Not necessarily, we've seen similar things happen before for Nintendo. It's just that with KH3 and RE2 I expected the hardware sales for PS4 to far surpass the effect of a game released almost 2 months prior. I don't think there's anything weird about that curiosity.

Can you give me any examples of those times where Nintendo went from dominating to being dominated from one month to the next?

My issue with your previous comment was "obliterate", expecting PS4 to sell better than Switch in weeks with major releases makes sense but expecting it to obliterate Switch is not realistic.

Just one more week and we will have a nice round ratio of 3 PS4 for 1 Switch sold.

They probably want to see what move MS makes first. It worked wonders with the PS4. I think MS are more "desperate" at this point though.

Sony was actually first to announce this gen, so at this point, I can see them doing that again. Who actually drops first is still much in the air.

They were? Well then never mind me...

Well, I'm not going to dig through the charts but I'll try. It's not like it's impossible. I mean, I guess "obliterate" is a strong word, didn't expect that to be an issue but let me rephrase. It's not as extreme but Global July to Global August of 2018 saw Switch beating PS4 off of Octopath to losing to PS4 in August. There are probably plenty of other times a major Nintendo release didn't prove well against other platforms in the subsequent month.

Yes, I did expect PS4 to sell better than Switch with RE2 and kH3, in January vs. Smash in December, lol I don't get how that's strange. Although I did mention it has part to do with of course, the PS4 is dying off and sales potential is much lower than Switch, however PS still manages to pull it out in Globals every now and then as of late. I guess I don't care as much as others whether it "dominated" but instead outsold. So yeah, I guess my bad for not using correct terminology.

But year 6 for the PS4 and the XB1 even with KH3 and RE2 releasing(more so for PS4 than XB1) you really expected hardware sales for the PS4 to surpass the Switch in the year that many think will be the peak year for the Switch? I mean the games clearly made an impact for the PS4 just by the fact that it and the Switch are a statistical tie. Making the drop softer for the PS4 which is very good for its age. Heck your scenario would actually be the MOST surprising one if it did OBLITERATE or far surpass the sales of the Switch IMO.

I am pretty much in agreement it would be reasonable to see the PS4 SLIGHTLY above the Switch(or for me tied as it basically is) with the releases but to obliterate or far surpass sales of the Switch would not make much sense at all without a pricecut involved as well. Especially in the year(as I stated above as well) that most think will be the peak year for the Switch.

You can ignore my other post lol. It was just your wording that threw people off but now you made much more sense and I get your thoughts now! Good deal!

I don't think you read my first post...

Edit: Nevermind, you see my point now. All a misunderstanding due to my wording.
