Not necessarily, we've seen similar things happen before for Nintendo. It's just that with KH3 and RE2 I expected the hardware sales for PS4 to far surpass the effect of a game released almost 2 months prior. I don't think there's anything weird about that curiosity.

Can you give me any examples of those times where Nintendo went from dominating to being dominated from one month to the next?

My issue with your previous comment was "obliterate", expecting PS4 to sell better than Switch in weeks with major releases makes sense but expecting it to obliterate Switch is not realistic.

Well, I'm not going to dig through the charts but I'll try. It's not like it's impossible. I mean, I guess "obliterate" is a strong word, didn't expect that to be an issue but let me rephrase. It's not as extreme but Global July to Global August of 2018 saw Switch beating PS4 off of Octopath to losing to PS4 in August. There are probably plenty of other times a major Nintendo release didn't prove well against other platforms in the subsequent month.

Yes, I did expect PS4 to sell better than Switch with RE2 and kH3, in January vs. Smash in December, lol I don't get how that's strange. Although I did mention it has part to do with of course, the PS4 is dying off and sales potential is much lower than Switch, however PS still manages to pull it out in Globals every now and then as of late. I guess I don't care as much as others whether it "dominated" but instead outsold. So yeah, I guess my bad for not using correct terminology.
