You can believe all you want but without actually knowing you are just making an assumption on what you think happen not actually knowing anything.  So until you actually know, why don't you table that opinion until you can find proof. I will be the first to say I have no clue and I will not form an opinion until I actually have more information then a gut check.

How do you know how long it takes to increase a team with talent then just filling it with a head count.  Also how do you know how long it would take to get a quality team instead of just filling a position.  Just wondering where you are getting your metric from because I know from my development house we have gone through many people over the years in interviews and only hired 2 people in 3 years.

Yes sure, makes a lot of sense.... "we passed 3 years interviewing and selecting, but no good candidates on the past 30 months, now in these last 6 months they all appeared" or would you prefer "we have interviewed all this people along 3 years and decided to hire they all at the same time"? Same for the companies they bought. I'm pretty sure it takes time to make the evaluation, contract and all, but finishing all at the same time doesn't seem like all started several years ago.

Anyway, will you deny that he talking it isn't of showing anything for several years have more to do with PR to keep the company image and sales than anything else?

Nothing happens in just 6 months.  It takes years to get to that point.  Your whole argument is that you believe everything just happen during this stretch of time.  For some reason you are making an argument since Phil said in 2015 he wanted to increase MS first party studios, suddenly magic happens and everything begins at that point.

As to your last paragraph, I have no clue what it took for him to get to this point.  Only thing I do know is that there were multiple rumors that MS was not serious about the Xbox division and during the stretch of time Phil has commanded the ship, he has been promoted over the entire gaming line as well as actually achieving what he stated.  My point is that we as consumers we only see the end results.  What we do not see is the effort to get to that point.  From my own experience, acquisition take time.  Just because you see an announcement within the same time frame does not mean they all was concluded at the same time.  MS controls when they announce anything and it could easily have been their strategy to do it now.

Same timeframe? From what I remember there were like 5 studios in the same announcement. Did they all perfectly aligned over a 3 year period to conclude very close to be announced together?

I think it's a fun & enjoyable game that deserve a better score because you have the option to play it with gamepass.

My thoughts exactly.

Is anybody saying good things about the MP? Its just there. Not terrible, kinda interesting, but not reflective of the campaign content.

If Crackdown 3 was on Switch it would be dynamic 480p-720p and still have scaled back visuals (refer to the UE4 game Ark). Anywho, still reminds me of Nintendo games for somewhat simplistic but polished visuals.

Cetainly CD3 would need to be scaled back for Switch, but that due to how bad the optimization is. I'll repeat, I find plenty of Switch games to look better than CD3.

So if the MP is bad then it naturally drags the score down.

I'd argue Crackdown 3 is well optimized considering we've seen numerous games really struggle with UE4. Its a very GPU intensive engine but has great looking effects.

The new Yoshi game on Switch has impressive graphics and its 60 fps, but its a platformer running well below 720p docked.

I feel like giving a game a lower score because the MP sucks should also means any game lacking MP deserves a lower score. I simply dont think the MP matters, its the campaign people are promarily enjoying.

Anyhoo, people are disagreeing with the critics because its a fun and polished game. Anytime I've played a game with a score around 60 on metacritic generally has obvious problems. Its seems more like critics dont like Crackdown 3 is doing versus genuine problems.

You cant just ignore entire parts of a game when giving a review, every aspect of a game needs to be factored into the score.

I think the debate for games in general comes down to playing it rather than ignoring it because critics say so. Without a personal experience with the game, it makes everyone's point who hasn't played the game invalid.

I was a little worried about buying CD3 because the reviews told me the game was average at best. Well 20 hours later I finally finished the game and I actually enjoyed it. That's my personal experience with the game. Just like the reviewers, who can cast spite on games based on development time, downgrades etc, I also ignore gamers opinions as well, unless they have actually played the games, and if they haven't, than they need to talk about something else. That's my 2 cents.

Reviewers are not me, majority of reviewers today probably haven't been playing video games as long I have so I take it with a grain of salt.

I could say a game is incomplete for not having MP and should always take a hit for not having it.

Hence, its kinda like punishing a game for having extra content. People who play Crackdown are there for the campaigns, the MP is inconsequential. This isn't Gears or Halo which have a huge focus on MP.

I saw the Digital Foundry video before I saw the reviews. After watching that video, I assumed Crackdown 3 was gonna get solid scores because they delivered what Crackdown fans want.

To the contrary, what Crackdown fans wanted doesn't appear to be what critics wanted. Too much of a throwback, not fresh enough, not doing what modern open world games are doing, etc. Some critics just don't enjoy the arcade action either I guess. Yet the New Super Mario Bros U port on Switch gets an 80? As a long time Mario fan, that game was a huge disappointment and a half assed rehash. But hey, to each his own.

That's not the same thing though and I'm pretty sure you know it's not. If you are going to add a mode to a game than it has to be accounted for in the review. If that mode is bad than it will drag the score down.

With that said, reviewers could give them seperate scores like 7 for campaign and 4 for multiplayer instead of a 5.5 for example.

I get your logic and you get mine.

I think critics arbitrarily ding games when they have MP or don't. For example, The Order 1886 was criticized for not having it and it arguably should have had MP because the game was really shallow.

Star Wars BF2 got really bad scores and I feel its party because the campaign disappointed even though the focus is MP. Essentially, we are in a weird place where games can be punished for doing more.

This holiday was the first time I didn't get the new CoD because I always play the campaign. But hey, that game reviewed just fine without my favorite aspect.

In a nutshell, meh.
