9/10. I do think it's odd heavily rumoured stuff like Star Fox and Metroid didn't appear, but I can't hold Nintendo to blame for various leaks not being on the ball. The only downside from my perspective is that January through May is quite quiet - but then I have a backlog of games to get through and work is busiest for me in that same time period, so personally a lull is welcome.

Summer looks crammed. Positives for me:

- Fire Emblem: Three Houses sounds interesting
- Daemon X Machina looks very stylish, hope it turns out well, demo available now
- New BoxBoy! It brings me so much joy
- Sudden drop of Super Mario Maker 2 in June
- Dragon Quest XI S has the 2D mode, Japanese voice-track, orchestrated music and is out this year
- New JRPG from Square-Enix to keep an eye on
- FF9 available now
- ASTRAL CHAIN WHAT IS IT I NEED IT
- Link's Awakening: just hook it to my veeiiiinssss

Yeah I'm pretty pleased, all said and done. I've got time to catch up on my backlog and get a few indies and JRPGs out the way, summer is packed, and it looks like we're getting Luigi's Mansion 3, Zelda, Pokemon, and Animal Crossing in the last few months of the year. And this is only the first Direct of the year.

Fire Emblem was weak as hell, but holy shit everything else.

DELTARUNE ON SWITCH BABY.

16 bit DQ XI

Mario Maker 2, the bit with 3D World hit me hard.

Lonk is back and it looks absolutely adorable

Platinum's game looks amazing.

Yosh adorable.

9/10

7/10.

Tetris, news about DQ XI, Link and the Raimbow Curse and FE teacher shipping students is a plus. The rest is meh.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

9. Pretty damn solid. I will say though. As excited as I am for Fire Emblem 3 Houses, I feel the presentation was not very exciting.

I agree it left me with a feeling of this feels a little off but I hope it was just the bad presentation.

I think Rune Factory 5 and Astral Chain were great announcements and Zelda is also looking great. I'm interested in Oninaki also as I enjoyed the previous 2 games from the developers.

7/10.

I would say 8.5/10
+ Super Mario maker 2
+ Dragon Quest
+ The Yoshi costumers are adorable!
+ FE Three Houses
+ Astral Chain
+ Oninaki
+ Link Awakening

- The other ports were Meh
- No Super Mario Party dlc or updates

They didn't announce an immediate release of Metroid Prime 4, so I give this Direct a rating of negative 50.  The fact that I can't indicate this rating in the poll throws the credibility of this whole site into question.

9/10 - One point deducted for no Metroid Prime Trilogy HD announcement. Also, no Super Nintendo games on Switch Online.

Overall, a ton of great content. Mario Maker 2 + FE looking so good made it for me. All of the additional 3rd party support and Platinum's new project just took things over the top.

I rarely go this high for these kinds of digital events, but this one might be the best Direct ever--or at least the best of the Switch era. A big, fat 9/10 for me.

The pacing was great--they covered ~25 games in 35 minutes--and the deeper dives into Dragon Quest and Fire Emblem were impactful. They announced a slew of new games, including Super Mario Maker 2, Rune Factory 5, Oninaki, Astral Chain, and Link's Awakening remake--the latter two looking spectacular. And I'm interested in playing almost everything shown (sorry, Dead by Daylight). Lastly, there was lots and lots of gameplay footage, both for already-announced games and new software.

So, it moved briskly, it surprised us, and it showed gameplay for a bunch of attractive titles. I couldn't really ask for much more. I'm super happy right now :D

Because this one was an explanation trailer. Unlike the first FE Three Houses footage, that was more of the Hype Trailer where there was NO Narrator.

I expect another trailer which will be the Hyped one at e3 or its own direct.

Pocky Lover Boy!

I'm still absorbing it.

Gonna split announcements up

Section 1

Mario Maker 2 - loved it, looks way better than the old game. #5 announcement over all.
Marvel game - Don't care
Box Boy Girl - Don't care
Smash Bros stuff - Don't care
Treasure Tracker new content - Interesting...
Bloodstained - looks really cool.
Dragon Quest Builders - This looks like a massive improvement over the first game. I have my eye on it. #4 announcement overall.
Dragon Quest 11 S - Now THIS, with the 2D mode, and the much more lush and vibrant look than the old version looks REALLY good. It might be that the old PS4 trailers were boring, but this looks significantly improved. This is my #2 announcement.
Disney junk - Don't care
Star Fox Atlas - Don't care
Rune Factory 4 - Now we're Talking - #3 announcement
Rune Factory 5 - WOOOOOOOOOO! My announcement of the show! Hopefully in the full 3D Frontier style with less creepily childish looking characters than 4.
Oninaki - not sure what to think on this one yet.
Yoshi - I am already sold on this game, and they have shown better content before.
Yoshi Demo today - GOOD! Looking forward to it. #6 announcement overall.

Section 2

Fire Emblem update - Looks really cool, but the news didn't get me any more hyped. I am already sold on this game. Maybe a later "treehouse" event. #7 overall.
Tetris 99 Free today - Woo! Gonna try this one, I'll probably get my ass kicked. #8 announcement
Dead By Daylight - Not sure what to think, at first it looked like Resident Evil Junior, but it began to look cool with the resource stuff.
Undertale Expansion - cool
Deus Ex Machina - Don't care, maybe the demo will change my mind, but I am not really interested in action games.
Real Car Racer - could be cool, I am not really a fan of these.
Hellblade - Could be cool, I need to know more.
Unravel Two - this game looks REALLY cool, but it's EA so they'll probably fuck it up somehow. #9.
Assassin's Creed 3: remake - Awesome! I'll be looking into getting this one #10

Section 3

Final Fantasy 7 end of March - They put the WRONG Final Fantasy game up. I want FF7 today not those generic FF Junior games. This pissed me off a little.
Some strange Platinum game - Don't care
News on Bayoneta 3 - Don't care
Big new announcement: Zelda Link's Awakening Remake #3 - Don't care, this game was already fine as it was, I don't want fancier graphics as an excuse to shell out more money.

Overall, the Direct began strong, and peaked with Rune Factory and Dragon Quest stuff - this section is 10/10 for me.
There was some interesting stuff in the middle - this section is 8/10
I found the ending extremely anti-climactic. It's good to have a date for FF7, but it pisses me off that they pushed it back behind other FF games I don't give a crap about. That's the only positive about this for me. Lots of stuff I'd have rather seen instead of this stuff: Animal Crossing, Pokemon, or SNES service could have saved the third act. I feel generous giving the third act a 2/10

So 20/30 or 7/10 rounded up.

And honestly, I felt like giving it a 6 after that crap ending.
