Well i haven't seen the performance of this card, but if what he said is fact, then you can't say he is being salty.

Salty would be downplaying and bagging something good out.

Their automotive customers are dumping them, the data centre/deep learning/AI crowd are more interested in rolling out their own custom ASIC solutions rather than using Tesla's, integrated graphics solutions from AMD/Intel in the future might actually end up being good enough eliminate the need for their XX50 series and under altogether and on top of that the display panel industry won't ever let Nvidia monetize off of them ...

I'm not 100% but I think It is as good as the rtx 2080, but he is calling it lousy. So does that mean rtx 2080 is lousy too? When you switch raytracing and dlss on the game looks better but the fps takes a hit.

Both RTX 2080 and Radeon VII are underwhelming. I really can't get exited for a video card for $699 MSRP with similar performance and launch price of a two years older card (GTX 1080 Ti should keep up with both and had the same $699 MSRP in March 2017)

The comment may be unprofessional, but in realty Nvidia is way ahead of AMD.
So much in fact, their actual 2000 line will be able to compete agaist R7 while making customers pay a premium price and using an older manifacturung process.
Basically the only real advantage of Radeon is 7nm and Nvidia will have that too in a year or so.

He's actually right. A 300+ W graphics card which matches a ~ 220 W GPU from an earlier node shrink. Which means Geforce is about twice as efficient as Radeon right now, and that's being generous. RTG will be stuck with 10% GPU marketshare or lower for a long time if this keeps up. Fortunatelly Zen is really good, so AMD's OK.

DLSS is a rendering technique like the PS4pro does, kinda like the checkerboard rendering (less imagine quality for more performance).
Also AMD will have raytraceing too I suspect.
