My game of the year, so becuase they think like me they're great!!, if not, they would be trash....of course.

I predicted this would happen when RDR 2 launched with a 97 metacritic. I ranted then that i thought it was overrated and the press untrustworthy, and that it will be like 2013 again with TLOU and GTA V, and after the game awards this became pretty clear.

I love GTA V to death and I love Red dead too but there's no doubt TLOU and GOW are better overall games. Two big pros they have is the gameplay is better and they're not riddled with shark card/gold bar type microtransactions.

GoW no because it’s only SP, but LoU yes it’s loaded with microtransactions, pay to win weapons, etc. Microtransactions literally changed the meta of LoU MP, it was a shame to see. At least they dialed the aggressive pay to win aspects back in Uncharted 4, as far as I know. Though even it has its own “shark card” currency and loads of microtransactions.

Congrats to GoW, I’ll finish it eventually, same with Red Dead.

So what games have you finished this year? What about spiderman or is that on the wait list along with gow?

I beat Spider Man. It was solid.

Not my personal favorite game of the year, but it definitely deserves the nod for GOTY either way.

That's my next game in January and then I'll move onto RDR2.

God of War is truly a masterpiece, any other winner for GoTY 2018 wouldn't make sense if you ask me.

Honestly nothing comes remotely close to God of War this gen.
Not only is it a masterpiece as Nioh, or an instant classic as Persona 5, it's one of the very, very, very exclusive few games ever we have that completety marked a system as Super Mario World or Sonic the Hedgehog, but even above that, it's also one of the best executed games I've ever had the pleasure to play, it might end up completely putting the entire generation behind it when it comes to my mind, as Shadow of the Colossus or The Last of Us.
Whenever I look back and think about the PS4 or this generation the first thing that comes to my mind might be this game.
Unless Ghost of Tsushima is as good as I dream about haha.
The Last of Us Part II would have a hard time on having a shot on it because the first is so special I find hard even if it end up being better than GoW 4 it would come first in my mind when thinking about this gen, tho, as gen 7 would likely pop first, but again, who knows.
Right now, nothing since The Last of Us can even compete with it.
And if you are wondering why did I not use The Legend of Dragoon as an example above it's because then GoW 4 or any other game I mentioned would noth have any actual weight to compare to it.

God of War is an amazing game, not as good as God of War 3 but still an amazing game.
RDR 2 is my favourite game this year though. Its the best game of this gen and among my top 3 favourite games of all time. Understandable why Polygon in particular didn't give it game of the year, as its not politically correct in any way and God of War's entire development team including Cory Barlog are SJW's and pandering to the leftist journalists.

I fail to see how political correctness comes into play with RDR2?

Objectively the game play in GoW is far better than the janky game play in RDR2. It's simply a better game.
