Crap, EA still owns the publishing right for the game. That means no port or remaster without EA's permission

I effing loved this game and I really hope EA agrees to remaster it, I never got a chance to play any of the DLC. Hopefully we can get a sequel.

THQ Nordic buys even more IPs.
Now it it is Alone In The Dark and Act Of War.

So did I, but my main issue was with the level cap being too low. I understand it was meant to be an MMO, which would explain why you can reach the level cap before completing even a third of the game's content, but I never finished the game because I was no longer gaining EXP anymore after some point.

Combat was epic. Did the original developers go under? Big Huge Games, was it? Or something like that.

And as for EA, I suppose it depends on whether or not they can come to an agreement. I have a hunch that even though EA has nothing to lose by letting them remaster it, they are going to want a piece of the pie for themselves. Especially a company like EA.

Damn, they are...insatiable.

Act of War?. Man that's amazing. Good to see THQ actually taking an interest in the RTS genre, unlike some other publishers out there...

lootboxes confirmed?

all kidding aside, i hope it gets the remaster/remake work done, great game to have and would buy.

I put over 90 hours in to the original (96 according to Steam, including the DLC). I've only done that for a handful of games in my life.

I would LOVE a sequel - don't care if there is a remaster except hoping it sells enough for the sequel to happen (working full time makes it unwise to sink another 100 hours in to a game you've already played ).

"THQ Nordic has bought the Kingdoms of Amalur IP as well as the unreleased Copernicus MMO.
THQ Nordic has been prolific in acquiring cut-loose IPs and trademarks. THQ isn't its given name for a start - the company was once Nordic Games - it bought that after the collapse of THQ, just as it bought so much else: Dead Island, Saints Row, TimeSplitters, Homefront, Metro 2033. The list goes on and on."

Seems like THQ Nordic's shopping spree is still in full swing - I hope they're the one that acquire Obsidian, if it ever comes to that.

I agree with THQ snatching Obsidian, this would be good.

Anyways, I see they still pick up more IPs. At this point they already have a sizeable library of old IPs. What they need is development capacity to make something about all these IPs.

If it comes to Obsidian being acquired by someone, I really hope they're the one that do it - so far, it seems that Nordic is trying to stay true to IPs they aquired as much as possible, and given their A/AA origins, I believe they wouldn't push them into AAA mass market spiral of death that consumed so many good devs in the past.
