*might* get 8 million? It will 100% pass the 8 million mark, no questions asked. It will pass the 10 million mark certainly too. Ending up at around 13-15 million lifetime sales.

That's a pretty bold estimate. What makes you so sure?

Uhhh...what? Uncharted 4 is  >8.7m, Horizon is >7.6m, and GOW did like 3 million in two days. Yet Spiderman is an ip known across the world, and the marketing push Sony is giving the game is seemingly more larger than even what those 3 games got.

Anecdotal evidence, but I have PS4 playing friends who haven't even heard of horizon but are super hyped for this.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

If it stays at 88 which it should then I was only off by four points.

87 on metacritic, 88 on opencritic and ~90 on game ranking. Sony have only gone and done it... Again!

"The best Spider-Man game ever made… but only just, since it fails to move the superhero video game genre forward in any important way." - 7/10

lol what kind of review is this? Not only do you have to make good game but your better move the genre forward in an important way. That's quite a challenge devs have on their hands when making games.

I don't see how that's unreasonable. The Arkham games have spoiled people, this kind of thing isn't a novelty anymore.

So Spiderman will sell just because its a more known IP? Not only that but 2-3 times more than any superhero game has ever sold on a single platform?

Am I reading this thread correctly that some people are saying that a score of 87/88 is considered not great or its over hyped? I said the game would get 87, I've pre-ordered it and am hyped for it, thats a good score. I for one cannot wait.

Game will sell 8m easily I think... I think people want open world, want Spiderman, I think it'll be just fine.

Well you were just a little more optmistic than average for our metacritic folks who like some troll review =p

Pocking my copy up later today when I finish work. Fairly excited.
