As some have said already, most 4th and 6th generation games look good in a way 3rd and 5th generation games don't.

For shame, I should hang for that. Why did I even type World of!?!!?! |
Think it's just a sign of how people think of Warcraft today and very likely the way activision/blizzard do as well, the RTS games are pretty much dead and we'll unfortunately likely never see a Warcraft 4 when you think that instead of a series of maps in the RTS with their own story behind each encounter, blizzard now would use that ounce of story and wrap a few months of raiding content around it in the MMO.
Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Soul Calibur 2 on Gamecube was a great game, played it a lot.

Out of all the games I've played and see - Super Metroid in 1993 has aged the best. The controls are still as tight and responsive as ever, the exploration momentum is still an industry standard, and the over all polish of the 16bit images, backgrounds, characters and environments is still great to look at.
25 years later, Super Metroid is still a beast of a video game.
What's important is how you play many of these games. Final Fantasy IX on a CRT looks pretty good for PS1.
The Jak trilogy, GT4, Soul Calibur 2 and 3, Tekken 5, Dragon Quest VIII, Dark Chronicle, Final Fantasy X and XII (though with aliasing issues) and so many others look great in their original resolution on a good CRT.
Even some fully polygonal PS1 and Saturn games can look at least decent on a good CRT
Sure, Ridge Racer Type 4 doesn't look good on a 65" 4K tv. But let's say a classic Triniton or maybe a PVM if you get one, even on my RGB-capable little 14" portable tv, it looks surprisingly well for a 3D PS1 game.
I dont care what anyone says lmao but Pokemon Stadium 2 on the n64 had some damn good 3D Models for the time period

Really, both Pokemon Stadium games had great looking 3D models, even for Pokemon that are rounder or more fluid looking. |
the models were so good they used them even for Pokemon Battle Revolution for the Wii
