I noticed it recently passed this milestone. I remember for years there were debates on who would sell more between Wii u and vita. Who would finish last for the gen. I think it's settled now even taking into account the margin for error.

Congrats to the milestone. Will be interesting, if they can hit even 17 millions. As they have no successor lined up, sales aren't cut short. On the other hand they are already pretty low, last year Vita made 700K. Will be a difficult path and take some more time. In any case, 16M are cleared and nobody can take this milestone away. It has beaten the WiiU (a question which was raised earlier this gen, which of the two can beat out the other).

Commendable considering hardships.

This is as far as it goes though..... it probably wont reach 17m.

A much better system and games library than many realize. Wish it would have sold more. Too bad the memory cards essentially made it a luxury item. I spent close to $1000 on them...... Compounding the issue of memory card cost, is their durability, which I feel is fair to classify as poor. 2 of my 32gb cards totally died.

Congrats. A few years ago I always said that Wii U would beat the Vita in sales and I admit I was dead wrong. While it is probably on its last legs now, it was a good cult system that unfortunately Sony didn't support more.
