Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (NS) is the most successful stand alone Zelda title (not counting remasters/other versions)

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be the most successful Zelda title combined across all versions.

Yes. 55 88.71%

No. 3 4.84%

Maybe so. 4 6.45%

Total:62

Now this is my game of the generation. Be interesting to see how the sequal will turn out. Weather they implemented a new design or keep going. This game represents gaming at its finest.

According to the latest report, the Switch version stand at 8.48 million. Combined with the WiiU version, it is over 10 million.

A quick top 5 of other games (Stand alone):

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) - 7.60 million
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) - 7.18 million
The Legend of Zelda (NES) - 6.51 million
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS) - 5.09 million
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES) -  4.61 million

Pretty well done. Do you guys think BotW will go over the combined total of OoT?

You did write that it outsold oot already and than you are asking if it will be the best selling one. ??? I dont understand.

No, it is the highest selling title on its own (NS only), the question is if it will outsell the total of OoT, meaning the N64 and 3DS remaster combined.

A remaster doesnt count sorry. Should we add crash 2018 sales to the first one too? Or any other remaster? Thats all sepperated.

BEAUTIFUL! Especially being the first game this generation to get such high reviews from across the board!

It will be interesting to see where the Zelda team will go moving forward. Now that the DLC is complete, they are probably exploring new opportunities with the franchise at this time.

I'm extremely pleased with BotW's continued success. To see such a drastic transformation after so many years and to come out with a game that not only started a resurgence for Nintendo, along with the Switch, but receive critical acclaim that puts it among the all-timers and a game changer for a genre that has been considered oversaturated in recent years.

I mean, some people would. It is just combining sales from certain games of the same-ish titles, just to measure. OoT3D is a remaster, but people tend to count them up as one sometimes. I did post the stand alone sales to compare for just that.

Yes - I think this will end (switch only) just shy of 15 million life time.

Switch!!!

Extremely impressive.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Not at all surprising, but, to me personally, a huge shame.
