Forums - Gaming Discussion - what is the most underrated (non-online) game in your opinion?

The Legend of Dragoon. I consider this Sony's biggest missed opportunity ever, as it had massive potential to essentially become their answer to Final Fantasy.

Breath of the Wild. As long as not every single person on the entire planet has played it and considers it to be the best game ever made, it's still underrated.

Dink Smallwood, Secret of Evermore, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

I may be biased as that game was my introduction to the RPG genre. The version I played was French for some reason, so I played it with a dictionary to look up some key words (actually learned a bit of French thay way ). Fell in love with the game and with the genre, really loved Secret of Mana as well which I played years later.

NFS Hot Pursuit, when talking of Criterion and amazing racing games everyone comes up with Burnout: Paradise but Criterio really nailed it in NFS Hot Pursuit. The gameplay, the graphics, the sense of speed, world design and soundtrack everything came together so damn well in that game. Its my favourite arcade racing game of all time.

GOW Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta don't get nearly enough love from portable gamers and God of War fans just because they were PSP games. They are 2 of the best games I've ever played.

Titanfall 2's campaign doesn't get enough recognition. Its the best FPS campaign of this gen and better than Doom because it feels a lot more varied.

Infamous 1, 2 & Second Son don't get any recognition and seem to have no fans at all clamouring for a sequel. They are some of the most fun games I've played in the last 2 gens but campaign players these days seem to want story over gameplay and these games never had multiplayer so probably why they never found an audience. They aren't talked about very much despite having such a great blend of platforming, open world and combat.

Thats awesome haha. I played it when I was like 10 years old and it was the first time I played an rpg for me aswell. Didn't even know games like that exist when I started it, so I did not know what I should do and how this works. But as I kept playing I realized I was playing the most awesome game I had played until then.

I replayed it about 2 years ago and still loved it.

I'd add in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (I think that's the title...it's such a convoluted and stupid title to remember)

I much preferred that game to even Mario Kart, and I've been waiting on its sequel for so long. Glad they just announced it.

Singularity

On the gamecube there was an rpg called baten kaitos which was pretty alright, but its prequel baten kaitos origins was absolutely fantastic! it was an improvement on every regard over the original and I think was the first monolith soft game published by nintendo so if you like xenoblade maybe track this one down. I think it didnt get the recognition it deserved because it came out in 2006 around the launch of the wii.
