I Really wanted to rate it with a 3 but i couldnt. I went with a 2. Well, it looks like i am the only person in the world who hates smash. I just dont like the game. I really dont. So for me, the only interesting thing would have been metroid, pkmn,  more zelda dlc (i know they said its not happening) and the retro open world game at least for the first party Segment. 3rd party i gor at least one game and that was south park. Thats why i gave 2 points foe it. And for octopath Traveler. Thats it. 2 games. 2 points. The doom wolfenstein direct was much better for me than this one.

And i hope that smash is comming out before E3 so that we dont have to waste any second for that game.

Yoshi goes to being irrelevant again. Seriously that game shows up, disappears for months, then reappears randomly again

can the game or release it already

It's obvious that Yoshi want be released in next couple of months like almost all games from Direct except Smash Bros, so they not showing it yet. Same could be said for Fire Emblem.

Switch 2018 be like

Octopath Traveler
Dark Souls
South Park
Crash Bandicoot
Mario Tennis
Captain Toad
Hyrule Warriors
Donkey Kong TF
Kirby
Runner3
Owlboy
Shantae Genie
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary
Mega Man Collection
Mega Man 11
Monster Boy
Okami HD
Yoshi
Smash bros

You missed some games, also when you look list of games from Direct you will see that huge majority of games will be released in next 3-4 months, and that basicly means that Nintendo yet need to start releasing announcements for second half of 2018.

5/10 It was okay. I'm not into Smash. If I where I'd probably rate it higher. I really would like to know what Retro has been up to. It's been 4 years.....

Retro game announcement screams like E3 announcement, not Direct one, so patient. ;)

I found a bit odd that there was no XC 2 DLC information. But I think thats something that can be tucked in the E3 presentation and just spend around 2 minutes in it.

I dont know, I dont think they would talk about XC2 DLC at E3.

This was Nintendo Direct not E3, you better had some normal expectations, and this was actually quite good Nintendo Direct.

Of Course that Smash is not coming before E3, next few months for Switch lineup look prety packed.

From just yesterday announcements, Switch for July releases have Captain Toad, Crash Bandicot and Octopath Traveler.

Pleasant but underwhelming 6/10 for me. Started out great but momentum was killed when they stalled on Mario Tennis and Splatoon DLC for like 15minutes.

First party wise we're essentially looking a Kirby and Mario Tennis for original switch games in Q1/Q2. Not great or displaying any improvement over the Wii U's worst years.

Overall though, a great selection of summer games, just a shame 90% are late ports from other systems. Hoping that the Japanese support starts to kick in sooner than later, Project Octopath is a highlight for me. More original Japanese titles please!

3DS is recieving some great late life support (to the detriment of Switch), Luigis Mansion is a nice gift! Of course super excited for Smash. Would be a lovely surprise if its a Q3 release like September instead of December.

Solid 9

  1. Smash having BotW Link is great. Also I guess the Inklings.
  2. Release date on Hyrule Warriors for Switch.
  3. Dark Souls Beta and Amiibo.
  4. Crash on Switch is nice, I guess. I didn't care for it on PS4, and that will likely carry over to Switch.

I’d go with an 8. It’s all down to what people are anticipating individually. Kirby looks really good, I’m a huge mario tennis fan and that looks awesome. Captain Toad I never played for the Wii U so that’s like a new game for me. Third party is looking good and Crash is another game I didn’t pick up for the PS4 when it was released. And Smash I don’t think I can add anything that’s not already been said. My one gripe, and this is very minor is that the Luigis mansion remake is on 3ds and not Switch, but like I said that’s me nitpicking in the extreme. Possibly a new Luigis Mansions at e3.

I want to believe thay they are saving all their big announcements for E3

Thats a given, you don't need to believe, only big announcement was Smash Bros. :)

Here´s the thing: I actually was skeptical about a new Smash so soon and when I saw the last trailer, and the very similar logo, and the year of launch,  I thought that it would be just another WiiU port with few enhancements.

BUT some minor details point that this is actually a new game, like the Japanese copyright line stating "Working Title", Link´s outfit and the new section on the official website.  That´s probably a similar Splatoon / Splatoon 2 scenario: a new game using most of the assets of the previous one.

+ Okami, a game I love is coming, yet I'm still boycotting Crapcom.
+ Crash Trilogy on Switch.
+ THAT AMIIBO! Dark Souls Remastered on Switch is now officially the definitive version.
+ Have never played a South Park game, can't wait to try it.
+ A new WarioWare game! Love these!
+ A New Smash game! Coming in 2018! Color me surprised.
+ Octopath Traveler finally has a release date, and that Special Edition is sweet. Most anticipated game for me this year.

9/10

PS: The only way it would get a 10/10 for me would be a Pokemon reveal. But I guess that has to wait for E3. I'm happy to wait though. Better take their time on this one, and make something truly spectacular. It has the potential to move A LOT of Switches and change the console landscape.

They didn't give release dates for anything after July yet. It's very likely that Yoshi will be their August or September game. They probably didn't want to release it too close to the other 2D platformers (Kirby and Donkey Kong).

Love Okami.

Won’t buy it since I’ve allready played the shit out of the game on Wii.
