Designing for all systems will just hold the game back. They need to focus making monster hunter as best as can be or else playstation and xbox owners won't be satisfied and they will lose interest

The power gap of switch and og x1 isn't that big. Just remove some textures, put sub 720p resolution, and try to hit 30 fps, etc.

If Doom for ps4/x1/sw is possible, than so is a monster hunter game.

I mean, switch version will most like be miles behind other versions(almost a diferent game), but you will have mh on a handheld, and things will look "ok" on a small screen.

You guys underestimate the Switch - XB1 gap, particularly, the CPU gap. XB1 CPU is at least >2 x faster than Switch, more like 2.5x faster from some known developers.

Ok, let's take Doom example to see how a MHW port on Switch would run: Doom runs at half the frame-rate and like twice less pixels on Switch compared to XB1 with serious downgrades everywhere. So from this MHW on Switch would run at 12-15fps at 576p with necessarily downgrades everywhere: textures, polygon counts, lighting etc.

And that's totally ignoring the fact that Switch has only 3GB memory compared to at least 5GB on twins consoles. Doom is a linear game so it probably doesn't need 5GB to run on XB1 but MHW is a big open world with plenty of persistent and dynamic data, more so than most open world out there like Far Cry or Assassin's creed. For instance in MHW all monsters have a dynamic impact on the world, even if it's far away from you. They kill others monsters (that you can loot), they leave steps (that you can inspect), etc.

That persistent data is crucial to the gameplay of MHW !!! If you played the game you'd understand ! It is what makes this game so special.

Great news to hear.Monster hunter is an excellent game but that son of bitch Barroth would not give me that motherfing wyvern gem.

hm.. using simpler assets and the like lessens GPU load, the big big question for a MHW Switch port is if the Switch can handle the CPU load, as game logic/AI/physics etc have a certain budget that is hard to cut down

the PS4 Pro roughly performs 60% better than the base PS4 with more than twice the available GPU power, which indicates the games' fps might regularly be limited by CPU power

This franchise needed this game, well deserved!

Why do these threads always turn into one big circle jerk?
Its absolute amazing that Capcom has found great success for Monster Hunter, but the blame for this series not advancing forward all these years falls on Capcom not Nintendo. People keep making comments as if it's Nintendo's fault that this company wanted easy cash grabs to fund their other games. Just weird to keep seeing these threads turn out with many comments like that...

Quote one post in this thread that says anything like that. Because I don't see one.

Insane!!! Capcom will definitely have a stronger focus for this series on home consoles now.

Now take some of that monster/dino design and make me a Dino Crisis!!

I love monster hunter world. It's now one of my favorite games this gen. And the monster hunter fans on playstation and xbox will want the series moving forward not dumb down. With mhw already being the most successful capcom game ever they will move forward with the series that's why I said I don't think there would be another monster hunter game on the switch because the switch is just too weak

Definitely a must buy for this gen, I have enjoyed it so much.
