Christmas Nights.

I'm pretty nostalgic for lots of games right up until PS2 generation and have revisited plenty of them I could probably list 50 games or so easily but in order to control myself I'll chose some restrictions. First I'd say Sonic the Hedgehog on Mega Drive is number one in terms of the game with the most great memories attached to it, but in terms of games that evoke immense nostalgia that I haven't played since the time period I originally played them and so they only really live on by the sheer power of nostalgia,

-Rainbow Islands (Amiga)
-Super Pipeline (C64)
-Blinky's Scary School (C64) Playing Mystik Belle reminds me of this game and once I discovered it and saw Way Forward was attached to it I bought it on the basis of nostalgia for this old C64 game
-Socrates (a VTech edutainment console with separate cartridges, the boot up music in particular makes me feel nostalgic)
-Barcode Battler, I still own several NES games and probably a few other games missing a barcode from their boxes due to this system that I credit with starting my love of RPGs (my joint favourite genre) and I distinctly remember when I first played a proper turn based RPG I thought "this is kinda like barcode battler, cool"
-Multiple Dizzy games on C64

I wouldn't say any of these are remotely close to being my favourite game but I have a serious soft spot for any of them no matter how bad they may be. These are also some of the earliest games I played and still remember.

Golden Eye 64 would have to be up there for me, would play for ages just battling it out with my dad. 1v1 facility haha

For some reason Goldeneye multiplayer became a thing that me and my brother would play every halloween. Despite no connection to halloween it remained a tradition for years until I moved out and to this day I bet if either of us were asked what game we would associate most with halloween it would be Goldeneye. I'm sure one halloween in the future we'll decide to get together and play it again since I know he still has his N64 and the cart.

One old game I'm very fond of is Penguin Adventure by Konami on the MSX. Really loved that game. It was just brilliant. Beautifully designed and programmed. It was a bit of a rip off of Super Mario but done in 3D with similar goals and end of level bosses, time restrictions etc and timed jumping but it worked exceptonally well and had bags of character. Just an incredibly fun game of its day featuring Konami's mascot Pentaro who was the hero in this game but the villan in others or just a background character sometimes.

FFVII - I spent heaps of time playing that game.
Suikoden II - I love those sprite animations.
Alundra - The original PS1 game was awesome, best action/puzzle game I know.

PS1:
The Legend of Dragoon

I love this RPG simply because they added an extra element to the combat.  I am replaying it at the moment, and you really have to be focused to hit some of the combo prompts.

Yeah, the combat system really separates it from most other games in the genre. I've played The Legend of Dragoon so many times that I can hit most of them by memory at this point, but it certainly takes a while to get them correct.

-Toy Story on N64
-Yoshi's Story
-Army Men 2: Sarges Heroes
-Super Mario Bros 3
-Pokemon Emerald
-Freddie Fish
-Spy Fox
-Zoo Tycoon
-Star Wars Battlefront 2
-Halo 2
-Runescape
-Math Blasterz
-Club Penguin
-Candystand.com Indiana Jones flash game

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

For me the most nostalgic games are

Legend of Zelda (NES)
Ultima IV (NES)
Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1)
Freedom Force (PC)
Heroes of Might and Magic 2 (PC)
D&D Tower of Doom (Arcade)
Katamari Damacy (PS2)

I have other games that I love just as much as these, but I'm not particularly nostalgic for like Super Mario Bros 3.  For me it's about longing for a game that is either unique or is just far better than everything similar that came after it.
