Well that always the case isnt it. Whichever game you play 1st in a franchise is often your favorite because when you play the sequel younare already burned out or atleast know what to expect. Surprised you havent experienced this all ready.

they're literally the same game but with even more modes and features in splatoon 2 lol

As Shiken says though, only if you consider pretty much every conventional sequel ever to be "literally the same game".

The one major issue I have with Splatoon 2 vs Splatoon is the maps. Splatoon's maps feel diverse, interesting, and each one having its own character. Most of Splatoon 2's new maps feel like basically the same map again and again, at least to me - the highlights are the returning maps.

In nearly every other regard I can think of Splatoon 2 wipes the floor with Splatoon, with the inclusion of the inspired Salmon Run being the home run of the package.

You are right, it wasn't good, it was fucking brilliant xD

splatoon popped your cherry... that's why it is more memorable to you i guess :P

It's franchise fatigue. Loved Demon Souls, really enjoyed Dark Souls, got bored with Dark Souls 2. Loved Pokemon RBY, Loved Pokemon Gold/Silver, enjoyed Chrystal, played Ruby and never finished, and haven't gotten far in a Pokemon game since.

Games now days need to be more complex to keep my attention, look at Grand Theft Auto. GTA3 kept me content with just stealing cars and driving. At this point I have done all that in GTA, but the small mini games and extra stuff civilians do keep me entertained.

The idea I'm getting across is that the original idea, though Vanilla (WoW reference), is the best because it is completely new. Everything that comes after is extra, been there done this.

I agree that and the changes to some of the weapons.

The new maps have at best two stand out stages but all of them are basically flat and smaller areas compared to the better stages of the first game.

I loved the mini splatling in the first game, but now I can barely tolerate it in part 2. Somehow it feels like they hit it hard with the nerd stick.
