Have you tried playing with the DS4 in the left and Move in the right hand yet?! I’ve read it’s the best way to play the game. I’d really like to know more from first hand experience.

That's not possible. You have to back out to the main menu to switch control methods. I haven't tried it though, I'll turn on the ds4 next time, see if the game responds to it like in the solus project.

It is the best method in The Solus Project. There you can have the DS4 in your right hand for smooth turning at any speed, with move in your left hand to interact with the environemnt. The PDA thing is still tied to the right move which you can put next to you so it is in view when you need it.

Oh, seems you are correct, just need to turn the ds4 on after starting with move
https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/7dkc68/psa_you_can_use_dualshock_and_move_simultaneously/

I assume you can simply pick up the left move again when needed for the bow or to aim spells. 3 controllers for the win. Gonna try it out tonight!

I actually attached the right move controller under the DS4 in the solus project to have a combined frankenstein controller with all functionality. It worked but gets kinda heavy to hold after a while. I see in that thread somebody suggesting to use your toes on the ds4 analog sticks lol.

Yeah, great to hear it does work. We all would wish Sony would just upgrade the move controllers with two sticks. The only reason why they refuse to do it must be early buyers who they don’t want to alienate...Or they’re cooking up an even better method. I’d sure like to know.

I guess they didn't expect to sell many units in the first place so choose to maximize sales and minimize costs by using their existing tracking system and software. Many people, including me, already had the move controllers. I even had the camera already, bought close after launch. Lower price of entry helped with sales.

It has sold better than expected, yet it's still too niche to introduce new move controllers and fragment the small user base again. Besides that, a better tracking solution is needed than glowing balls. I doubt next gen's version will be compatible. It would be nice to have now, I would buy it. An extra camera to stabilize tracking would be nice too. Never say never, Sony released the AIM controller as well.

Anyway it works surprisingly well for a first gen product. Got to leave room for improvements for next gen!

I think next gen (on PS5 in 2021/2022) will be a wireless headset with inside out tracking. For a console expierence, that just much more fitting.

Could see them maybe using 2 4k screens and similar price to psvr launch.

I guess PSVR 1 will also be compatible in some ways to maintain the big userbase theyve build with then.

And PS5 will likely use X86 APus as well so it should be backwards compatible to ps4/pro and launch with a big catalog of vr games.

I don't expect much BC for VR. A lot of early titles will be really outdated once motion controls and movement have been sorted out and standardized. Teleportation, different ways of snap turning, tunnel vision, movement restrictions, clipping though walls, menus clipping through things, uncomfortable viewpoints. It's all very experimental now and while it's awesome to see how it's quickly evolving, next gen most of the early titles will feel really crude while the rest will feel lacking in different areas.

There's room for remasters ofcourse with updated controls and other things sorted out. But it will feel a lot like going from ps1 to ps3 in terms of controls and gameplay conventions for 3D games.

Dual 4K screens should be feasible in 2020 with hopefully foveated rendering sorted out. That will put it close to on par with regular screen gaming in terms of detail and graphical fidelity. Ofcourse on a regular screen you still get full fat 4K, while 4K in a headset of 110 degrees more resembles 720p on a screen. A big step up from the SD gaming it resembles now.

Really enjoying it so far, I haven't feel motion sickness while playing it (I did with RE7) I love that I can use the Move controllers and walking around isnt as clunky or confusing as I thought it would be the really did a great job.

Only issue I have is im left handed and prefer to play with the right hand set up but when I equip a bow and arrow I need the bow in my right hand not my left and I cant change it.

I doubt it’s going to be wireless. Additional weight, cost and the problem with battery power makes it unlikely imho. I also don’t think we’ll have to wait longer than 2020 for next gen. Even 2019 is still a possibility. Inside out tracking is highly likely as well as AR capabilities.

I also hope they implement foveated rendering and eye-tracking in order to use hardware power more effectively.

i am not sure I agree about the backward compatibility though...PS5 will surely have it but PSVR2 I’m not sure for reasons SvennoJ has mentioned above.

True, the current wireless solutions have you carry a battery on your body. You don't want that additional weight on your head. Wireless will also add lag due to the need for compression as dual 4K at 120fps is a whopping 44.5 gbps. It doesn't even fit over a HDMI 2.1 cable which top out at 18 gbps. VR is pushing limits everywhere.

I'm impressed both PSVR and Switch version are receiving this much love even though the game is old already.

Enjoy guys

As a person who owns a Vive, I still prefer non-VR more often than not. VR is fun for jump-scare games and zombie-style games or those awesome 3-dimensional "Paint" style ones in my opinion, but I honestly think I'd get tired of wearing the headset too quickly to enjoy a game like Skyrim.

Perhaps in the future when it amounts to little more than a pair of glasses you pop on I'll change my mind, but right now it still feels too cumbersome for extended sessions.

The PSVR version of Skyrim has been received very, very well by the public.

A Fallout 4 VR version of the game is almost certain in my opinion.

It would be Amazing!
