4. The Maker's Guardian (Darksiders II)
5. The Didact (Halo 4)

Ok, you've got me with Darksiders 2. But the Didact?

Don't you just run up to him and shive a bomb in his chest (and that's it)? Most of the 'fight's a cutscene.

You do, but the build up to the fight, coupled with Cortana's sacrifice made it one of my favorites.

Honestly, it would require an elephants memory to remember them all and then rank them properly.

So, i will just mention the last one i really enjoyed, wich was the mouth of mordremoth in Guild wars 2 heart of thorns.

I can't express properly how much this comment upsets me. Boss fights are the climaxes of games. Without them games are monotone and boring. If any devs are reading, never do that. Boss fights rock!

Boss fights are like annoying cutscenes you can't skip and have to watch over and over. There are some exceptions, like SotC, yet most of the time they are just there to interrupt the fun and take away your freedom to play how you want. The thing I can't stand the most is boss fights with stages, start from beginning after failing at the last stage. In rpgs I usually become so overpowered first, they're meaningless anyway.

I have much better memories of the worst boss fights. Uncharted 2 end boss, Beyond good and evil end boss, Skyward sword thing in the pit/quarry you have to fight 3 times, Dark souls Capra demon, Botw Thunderblight Ganon, Windwaker boss with the hands, Ratchet and Clank remake end boss, Gears of war RAAM, Bioschock infinity final boss etc. Boss fights usually ruin my intention to replay games. I would more often if you could skip them on a second playthrough. Instead -> trade in, so if any devs are reading.....

That's usually how I feel, especially when the most fun in a game is often in the last push to reach the boss.  Then, boom, let's take away the game-play you enjoy and replace it with a fenced-in version of Spot The Weakness, where you have to jump through a set of pre-arranged hoops.  I prefer bosses that are easy or at least 'normal', especially if they're human.

Another thing I like is when you can turn difficulty down for a boss fight.  I remember Dragon Age: Origins having this super long and tedious boss fight that was really all about surival--I beat it once the hard way but when I played the second time I dialed that sucker down to toddler level so I could get back to having fun.

So basically you guys hate boss battles because some are poorly designed, okay.

Also how the fuck is that complaint directed at Shadow of the Colossus, a game that is pretty much only about its boss battles? There's no fun to be had "exploring" that world and finding absolutely nothing except some stupid lizards that are impossible to kill, some fruit, and I guess very rarely some actually good sights. The beauty in the open world of SotC isn't exploring it, it's the silent journey it brings between the big battles.

He literally said that SotC is an exception and listed it as his top game for boss battles.

Koloktos - Zelda Skyward Sword - It's hard to choose a single Zelda boss.

15th colossus - Shadow of the Colossus - Really hard to choose a single one, too.

Riku - Kingdom Hearts

Magus - Chrono Trigger

Gobblegut - Super Mario Galaxy 2

Cynthia - Pokemon Platinum

Kefka - Final Fantasy VI - I was super overleveled when I battled him but it still was a great battle.

Vergil last battle - Devil may Cry 3

1) Riku (Kingdom Hearts)
2) Kefka (FFVI)
3) Persona 3's Final Boss
4) Biggest post-game Boss (Disgaea 5)
5) Simone (Nier Automata)

All of them except D5's one are because of their plot implications and/or design. I don't care much about bosses gameplay.

TLOZ Skyward Sword: Demise
Metal Gear Solid 3: The Boss
Dark Souls: Ornstein and Smough
Shadow of the Colossus: Malus
Metroid Prime: Metroid Prime

Demon Wall (Final Fantasy 7) - So yeah, most of you are thinking, what? It's just a wall, not important, just something you fight at the end of the Temple. Well, true but when you are underleveled (between red dragon and demon wall there is no enemy spawn so no change in levels) and didn't know what multiple saves were back in the day. This thing will kill you. I was in a pickle so had to try and figure a way out to get out of the temple, I worked out a way to kill because before had it was destroying me.

Xemnas Final Form - KH2 - WE SHALL GO TOGETHER!

The Edge - Furi (play this game if you haven't) - You went from dodging like crazy to just you and him and parry.

Gehrman - Bloodborne - Just because.

Fereldan Frostback - Dragon Age Inquisition - But that's not really a real boss, I hear you say. Really? So you weren't impressed the first time you went to fight a dragon and it swooped down, started kicking your arse, then bloody screamed at you in one of the best video game sound effects ever? Whatever.

I'm pretty sure there are others but my memory escapes me.

Hmm, pie.

Think I need to pay more games... got my first two then stalled! Most of the ones I really like are Zelda and Mario (or part of the Mario universe). Last three are just off the top of my head.

Stallord (Twilight Princess)
King Kaliente (Super Mario Galaxy)
Black Guardian Ulyaoth (Eternal Darkness)
Egg Golem (Sonic Adventure 2)
Dragon (Tomb Raider II)

FFX - Sin
Chrono Trigger - Lavos
Persona 3 - NYX
Kingdom FARTS - Ansem
Caslevania - Dracula

This isn't in any order , just 5 very memorable boss fights for me.
