Is 1 PS4 more profitable than 1 Switch?

^ in terms of 1 unit of hardware sale? my guess? no.

I remember back when we found out specs, people where guessing 199-249$ price points for it.

Nintendo is makeing bank ($$$) on each sale, of hardware.

In terms of software? probably.

https://gamerant.com/nintendo-switch-production-cost/

It seems manufacturing a Switch is roughly 257$.

From 4 years ago PS4 cost 381$ to make. https://gamerant.com/ps4-cost-build-manufacture/ I wouldn't know about the cost as of now, though.

Nintendo doesnt set the RRP in Sweden. Bergsala does.

Gamestop worldwide, is nothing what it is in Sweden. Gamestop is the biggest focused on games only, but mainly because it's the only one nationwide.

Meda Markt is a whole other beast here, it's like saying that the amount of "ICA Nära" surpasses the amount of "ICA Maxi" but they're a small contributor in the end. The demand is not like in Japan or North America, but it's solid.

This is correct.

Also regarding Media Markt. They undercut prices of competition by operating at a loss. I mean since the first store opened in Sweden (in 2006) they have so far lost somwhere around 3-4 billion SEK (~$370-490 million) in trying to force the established competition out of the market (death toll so far, OnOff, Expert and numerous smaller electronics retailers).

I just hope they go away.

Yeah also this, they have such a shady business model. They operate just like FKP Scorpio in regards to how they drive business in Sweden. Taking a loss with a massive capital in other countries, to kill the opponents and then have all the market to themselves.

257$ was the apprixmate price of the Switch hardware, excluding shipping and retailer margins. So while Nintendo doesn't sell at a loss, they don't make big earnings, either. However, the PS4 is probably sold at a loss, so yes, Switch is more profitable

As for the software, Sony gains more from third party deals, but Nintendo sells much more first party titles. But due to the larger install base, I'm pretty sue Sony gains more right now.

The RRP is set by Nintendo. So, this just says that stores are selling the Switch at a lower price that the one recommended by Nintendo.

Isn’t the RRP set by Bergsala and not Nintendo? (what I’m meaning is that in this instance Nintendo might be free of guilt)

Doesn't make a difference - they're still under direction of Nintendo. The RRP of the Switch in Sweden is the same as that of the PS4. Same as it is everything else.

1. Good Switch sales, even if european sales could vastly improve. Why haven't they done a FIFA bundle?

2. Also,I'm curious, why are WiiU's sales so high compared to the ones in USA and japan? They actually are above the thousand.

1. PS probably has a exclusive bundle deal or something. By probably I mean definitely.

2. They still have launch stock units to sell

Yes they have a fifa ps4 bundle. Its on nr 3 right now on amazon bestsellers germany. Switch is 16. Odyssey top 10 somewhere. Xbox1x is also top 10. Switch is very weak in europe.

Sony announced that PS4 had SHIPPED 63.3 million as of June 30th.

The last time they announced sales numbers was when they announced PS4 had sold 60.4 million as of June 11th, which is what VGChartz also says: http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly/42897/Global/

Sorry but xbox one is doing horribly, it's slowly looking like a dying console.

I think we are now watching the decline of Xbox One.  I very much doubt Xbox One X will do anything to save it.  It's pretty much Sony and Nintendo from here on out.

Sony want to make money by selling art, Nintendo want to make money by selling fun, Microsoft want to make money.

The real battle is beginning between the PS3 and the Xbox One in Japan. A few key titles and it won't be long until that gap closes and the Xbone is on the same weekly sales. Sony better watch out for that one.

Yeah but I think those are accurate becauss vgchartz amended the numbers after getting the official numbers.
