Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Patchter: XBOne X sales exaggerated. 4K TVs are for Morons! Don't fall for Windows Central BS.

XBOne X preorders?

Really good. 42 19.63%

No big deal. 139 64.95%

4K TVs are cool! 33 15.42%

Total:214

Bigger resolution and bigger screen are the way forward.

In 2009, i changed my PC screen from 720p to a 1080p. I remember, I played Batman AA / The Witcher 1, and the change was damn impressive. Once I got 1080p, I never came back. Playing ps3 games in 720p was hurting my eyes (Bayonetta, Darksiders)

Then I got a bigger screen, then a projector. 1080p with 100" screen @ 60fps is now my setup for playing since 2013.

Last week I bought a brand new laptop with a GTX1060, a 15" 4k screen.

I'm playing Batman AA now on my 4k screen and it's like I'm playing another game. Hollow night, Nex Machina, and Xmorph: Defense are damn awesome in 4K.

I don't know when I'll be able to afford a 4k projector, but this is defo gonna be my next purchase...

skippidy bop boh boda *BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*

The TR comparison shots did MS no favors. If the only difference in graphics are buttons on a jacket, then this disproved ''true 4K'' as being a game changer and 4K tv's at the moment in general.

Look anybody who knows anything about movies, knows that yes resolution matters, even old movies like Lawrence of Arabia have film prints out there that are 8K. Does that mean it has to be seen on an 8K Bluray? No.

Unless your rocking a 65''+ 4K screen and your sitting less than 6ft away from it, 4K ain't giving you shit.

No wonder you massively notice the difference, an 100'' projector at 1080p has a very low pixel per inch density, four times lower than the first Game Boy screen in fact. On the other hand a 15'' 4K screen is probably close to the resolution limit your eye can perceive. Size and distance are the key here, indeed a 15'' screen on 1080p will look sharper than a 100'' 4K screen. I would get that 4K projector next same as you, in your position, the benefit is going to be huge.

Agreed 100%

David Katzmaier (CNET) has covered this subject plenty of times.

I am more amazed about people still not able to spell his name correctly than what that guy actually says.

I have 3 monitors connected to my PC. One is a 4K tv with very good response time. I'm actually have it as a secondary screen so i can put a lot more windows that I need open on it, while still being able to see them fairly well. So glad I have it.
