Forums - PC Discussion - Oculus Rift & Touch bundle is totally worth it imho (mind blown)

I bought and played through "FORM" yesterday... awesome sci-fi puzzle game!

It's on sale at Steam and the Oculus Store:

The developers are already working on their next VR game, can't wait for it!

I also bought a "HTC Vive Bundle"-key yesterday on eBay for £12, which includes the games "The Gallery: Episode 1" + "Zombie Training Simulator" and the 3D drawing/painting app "Tilt Brush". Nice deal, on Steam these 3 games/apps are priced €20 each.

Today I bought Windlands for €5 at Steam: https://www.roadtovr.com/windlands-currently-75-off-steam-september-4th/

The developers are so nice that they give out additional keys for the Oculus Store: http://keys.psytecgames.com/

So after failing in "Ping Pong League" (although I'm not too shabby in playing table tennis in real life), I gave another VR sport game a spin:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/428080/Racket_Nx/

The squashish "Racket NX" offers a free demo and this game is superfun! Unfortunately it is also too immersive... I'm worried that if I play it longer, I will seriously get hurt, if I get tangled in the cable or jump into a wall or furniture.

One step closer to virtual sex.

RIGS as bonus PS Plus VR game in Europe! Yes!

Glad to VR has reached someone else. I have been in love with this tech for years. I prefer PSVR, but have also enjoyed my time with Vive and Oculus.

I prefer my VR games to have motion controls for a Full VR expereince. If you can try out Super Hot VR and Carnival Games VR. I have been playing Carnival Games a couple times a week since it came out, and Super Hot is another great game to jump into for some exercise.

Just make sure you warm up before playing, and keep aware of your surroundings. Very easy to go overboard and strain a muscle/tendon or walk into the TV.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

There is a nice sale in the Oculus Store: https://www.oculus.com/experiences/section/rift/517673041900599/

I just bought "Edge to Nowhere" (Insomniac Games) for €20, "Chronos" for €23 and "I Expect You To Die" for €15.

Summited Everest on Sunday night. Game is gorgeous.

Also, my friend's brought his wife over on Saturday night to check out the Occulus. They are the ones who showed me their PSVR a couple of months ago. They were both completely blown away by the Occulus. In her words, the difference between the two is night and day. She had a blast playing the football segment of VR Sports Challenge. She commented on how amazing it was that her husband was able to play with the Occulus for the durations he was. She mentioned that the PSVR games they have usually make him nauseous within 5 minutes.

Another thing worthy of note was how drawn in she was by Wilson's Heart. As an observer watching her play, my friend mentioned how impressed he was that the jump scares in the game were literally making her jump. He said that she normally isn't susceptible to that kind of thing, but the Occulus is just that immersive to elicit those kind of reactions. I made her stop at the point in the game where I left off, so as not to spoil anything for my own playthrough, and she said that she is looking forward to coming back and continuing her save file.

I also bought "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes" before they came over, so that I could have at least one game that would involve participation from those not wearing the headset, and we had some fun with that as well.

Try out Distance in VR, and Rez Infinite.

Another gem is the new Tomb Raider demo: http://tombraider-dox.com/

As it turns out, the demo already supports VR. All I had to do to activate it, was adding " -vr" as a parameter to the shortcut.

So I played through the full demo again in VR and it looked and played great in VR. The only thing they have to fix are the position of the 2D objects (loading screens, menus, inventory, health bar...)

I also found a lot of secrets I missed the first playthrough... partly because of the wider field of view and more turning around withe the head movements?

I've had the Rift and the Vive. I really am impressed with what they have been able to do with this technology. Some of the games are just amazing first time experiences, which is a thrill for someone who has been playing videogames for over 35 years.

I do think the technology is still a little ways off though. Its tough because I would love to support it right now but I think it won't really take off until its wireless and either self contained or streamed. The potential is through the roof though!
