Okay, that's definitely possible!

Yeah, it def has the potential to do so in Japan, maybe even become the next ideal portable gaming device.

It's really great to see, I'm more interested in Japanese 3rd party so if more devs that were previously exclusive to the Vita or PS4 also ports it for the Switch, that would be great

at first I thought you were overexaggerating because I remember hearing about the 500k like 2 months ago, but you're right! 500k in a month for a dead franchise is sooooooooooo gooodddd. Especially for an overpriced game. Wtf

I am pretty sure the Switch will get all the Vita multiplats which also means we get PS4 games as well. That means the Switch will get a lot of Japanese games. Hope you like having lots of Japanese games!

The PS4 (EU/US) and Xbox One (in US) are proberbly going to have higher sales numbers on third party games from western third parties.
The Nintendo Switch is the Ideal console for people in Japan and sales will reflect it.

Altough they shouldn't ignore numbers they should also realize there isn't a 1:1 mirror in sales because of the handheld-gaming focus in Japan that hasn't passed over in full force to the EU/US

Actually the majority of these sales are coming from the West.

Disgea 5 did not do very well in Japan for example, but the West is what drove that to over 100k sales.

There are some Western success stories popping up too ... NBA Playgrounds has done very well on Switch, Shovel Knight, Snipperclips is a Western developer I believe, so has Minecraft I would assume. Ultra Street Fighter 2 is another one that didn't seem to sell that great in Japan, but Capcom has shown it sold better than they expected so those other sales came from outside Japan. 

 I think NBA 2K and FIFA have legit shots at doing well, but we will see. 

Nintendo seems to be tapping into the digital sales boom that is happening. A good amount of the games they have arent at retail so theres less of a chance of preowned game issues. The smaller games are just as good as the big games. They balance one another out. Reminds me of the old days of gaming.

Am I the only one who thinks it's rather sad a rehashed bomberman sells 500k. Don't get me wrong I would like to see Japanese 3rd party games do well on Switch. Although I would prefer that to be games like Disgea 5, Nier Automata etc. Instead of overpriced rehashes of old games.

I dont know about this, but I think its going to sell well with Japanese games a smaller multiplat titles. This is going to be the extra boost Japanese and indie games companies will get.
