Forums - General Discussion - Your biggest pet peeves about gamer logic...

We all have that one friend that for some reason you feel the urge to just yell, "WHY!?", and send whatever it is in your hand flying across the room whem they make...well any gaming related choices.  Mine is when people play a game for 10 min and trash it without knowing anything about it.

For example, I have a friend that bought Bloodborne (a game we were going to play together) at release.  He literally got to the character creation screen and when he realized you create your own avatar, he turned the game off and returned it.  His logic was that he hated Skyrim (another game he played for 10 mim before quitting) and since Skyrim had a character creation screen, Bloodborne must have been just like it...

Another example is a metacritic user review I saw for Splatoon 2, one of the few bad ones.  I know I know, trolls, but this guy sounded dead serious.  After admitting he played for like 10 min, he started saying he hated the game and his reasons why...but he was wrong about so many things.  Like how the motion controls ruin the game...yet not knowing you can TURN THEM OFF!

My stepson tried to say he did not want to play it within 5 min because you had to shoot ballons in the tutorial.  Well I made that little fart sit down and give it a real chance and now he really likes the game.

People are so quick to judge that they end up missing out on a lot of good games, some they may really like.  However the min things feel different, they want to fall back to their GTA or CoD.

So that is my pet peeve, what is yours?  What type of gaming habbits infuriate you to no end?

A user on Metacritic gave Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate a 0 because it's too hard.

"I just failed a 2 hour long time line quest for the 5th time cause of the "boss" (G. jagi) just ran away when i came close to killing it, once it started to run it was impossible to stun it. impossible to catch up to it. it was immune to all kind of crowd control whatsoever. mines didn't work, nothing worked. i've literary spent 10 hours straight chasing a boss that only runs away"

The Great Jagi is the first big monster you have to fight, he's extremely easy.

I hate people who give 0's. Literally no game with a decent budget has ever been that bad. Even games like Mighty No.9 are still nowhere near an unplayable status.

People who keep buying into the hype of AAA games from the studios that constantly hype and dissapoint but these people keep falling for it. Ubisoft,Bioware and such.  Also anyone who fell for the No Mans Sky hype. I never got the hype. I kept asking the entire time..yeah ok it's big you can go anywhere but what can you actually do. Well when it released the answer was not much of anything. I don't get the logic of falling for a studio saying how huge the world is...so? I love open worlds but I need shit to do there.

I can't understand why some people buy every iteration of yearly franchises like CoD/Fifa etc but THEN complain that these games never change and always feel the same.

If a game has cartoon/anime art styles/graphics then it's for kids. That will always be my #1 pet peeve.

Agreed, that's pretty stupid. Having a big world doesn't correlate with being an interesting game, yet that fallacy is wide spread.

Omg I am so with you on this!

My pet peeve is people playing cooperative games and not knowing what they're doing, messing up the mission, whether unknowingly or on purpose.

Hypocrites

"I hate season passes!" .......buys season pass
"I hate overpriced DLC!" ......buys overpriced DLC
"I hate microtransactions!" ........drops more money on them than the base game
"I hate franchise X/Y/Z because such and such!" ........buys franchise X/Y/Z every year

Also, people who take issue with what others do or don't enjoy, and act like buying or not buying certain games makes them more or less of a proper gamer. Get over your fucking self
