Your island must be nice, bother sharing your dream code?

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit has arrived on our doorstep, a few days late due to postage and the weekend.
My little brother is unpacking it now, (it's his birthday present) once he's played it I'll see if I can have a go and post impressions.

I so wish I had a child, and a big enough house to enjoy this.

Not judging anyone who can still enjoy stuff like this at an older age, but for me personally, I think this would be like Labo where I bought it because it seemed like such a neat idea and quickly got bored with it. But, if I had a child to play it with (and again an adequate living space) I think this would be a blast for me.

Our flat isn't particularly big, but we'll see how we go with that, we'll try making a track that goes around both living room and kitchen.

He's been really hyped for it so I hope he enjoys it.

Okay so I didn't get a chance to play it myself as my brother loved it so much he played it until the Kart ran out of power, which took about an hour and 40 minutes.

The AR has some really cool touches, like faking an effect of your floor being lit by the enemy karts, or the confetti from your victory landing on the ground. It's not perfectly stable, but it's more so than any other AR game I've seen to date.

There's a good variety of course features/hazards in Grand Prix including Kamek mirroring your room mid lap and virtual wind blowing your kart slightly, and new karts and outfits unlock in a well paced manner that makes you wanna keep playing to get more.

The only real issue we had was when we had a course where the Kart would go behind our couch so that the signal had to travel through said couch to the Switch, the feed stuttered a bit; not to game-ruining degree but it was noticeable.

Setup time is less than I was expecting, the gates for example can be unfolded in like 30 seconds or less, and though you do need to jump through a few hoops to sync your Kart and lay out a course, it's not like Labo and on the whole should only take about 5-10 minutes to set up a race. I'm actually not sure if the Kart comes charged as we put plugged it in as soon as we opened the box on the assumption it wasn't. Once we cleared away some tables and chairs we had a roughly four meter by four meter space in which to race and that proved more than adequate.

On the whole he's very happy with it.

My island is a mess, I am in the middle of a construction project.

Alrighty, me and my brother spent a good hour and half last night passing the controller back and forth as the RC Kart whizzed around our apartment, and it was glorious fun. It's one of those games that really comes alive when you play it with another person, laughing and cheering as you play. It'd be an amazing party game, especially with some alcohol involved.

I was also really impressed how well they got the real life vehicle to control like a virtual one despite being grounded in physical reality; it really does turn, "drift" and handle like a MK8 kart.

Kind of disappointing that there's still no release date for Bravely Default II. I was expecting Square Enix would unveil it while I was under hospitalization, but nothing.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Hospitalization? Are you alright?

Pretty fine, actually, thanks. I got into the mental health hospital of my city and remained there for 3 weeks. I always wondered if there was going to be a huge announcement while I was out, but only Steve in Smash got me.
