Forums - General Discussion - Netflix's awful match system

Which rating system do you prefer?

The original five star rating system 62 93.94%

The new thumbs up/down and matching system 4 6.06%

Total:66

The original five-star system was bullocks and so is the current one. At least with this thumbs up/down one I don't have to see Netflix imbeciles rating good content with low stars, something I saw often.

They both seem to be fairly below average at match-making, too.

Personally I feel Netflix has been going downhill for awhile now. I rarely find things to watch, and when I do they aren't kept for very long. Was definitely worth it before, but luckily I don't have to pay for it anymore anyways.

Movies selection is usually shit ever since they lost the Starz agreement years ago but some of their shows are pretty good like Narcos, Orange is the New Black and I also like some shows that they took over like Trailer Park Boys and Longmire.

Yeah, I watch Orange with my family but that is about it. Sometimes we pull up a random movie that was usually a box office bomb for no reason and is fun.

Other then that I miss most of the old content, and also wish they would update new anime more often.

Being from Mexico, Netflix has an amazing selection of foreign movies so I like it and they are doing great with their original shows.

Neither, I much preferred the original, original 10 star rating system.

Why hate systems that bring you great games?

PSN: Aceburg0413

XBOX Live: Sheep of Doom13

Nintendo:  SheepofDoom13

3DS FC:  3222 - 5562 - 9867

Idea: since they have taken the more accurate 5 star rating away in order to get more likes and views on unpopular titles, I say we vote dislike on everything. Especially the Netflix original content and get our ratings elsewhere, since we can no longer trust the current rating system anyway.

I just wish it was easier to navigate.  It isn't Amazon levels of bad, but could still be improved, like having  apin system for shows I select so I don't have to find "my list" or "continue watching" every time.

The difference to the star system isn't that far as some might think: already with the stars everyone saw different star-ratings based on personal choices. But they reduced the options from five to two: wanna see similar stuff or don't wanna see similar stuff. You could say it's really three, as the not voted option is also there. So, the difference shouldn't be that bad.

What is bad, is that the database isn't that big as with the star-reviews at the moment, and so the quality of the recommendations dropped. That should heal itself over time, if more and more people vote, but in the moment it is shit.
