Forums - Gaming Discussion - Phil Spencer delivers?

Earlier this year, Phil Spencer responded to a question on Twitter regarding games coming to XBox:

And listening to the co-optional podcast hosted by, among others, TotalBiscuit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0Zvay2eJBI

There were several instances of praise for Microsoft's conference and the games that were shown as well as their variety (54:04, 1:18:19, 1:19:38, 2:28:18, 2:44:45, 2:45:50, 2:48:20)
So this seems to suggest that Phil has delivered a decent show.
How did you guys feel about Microsoft's showing at E3? Single player games? XBox has long been associated with shooters so how did you feel about the variety of games? New IP?

Phil is talking about this year, so how much 1st party games did they have last year? And what's the new IP?
[edit]1p means singleplayer or firstparty?

I like the variety but im a shooter guy so i want for them to return to making mostly shooters.
Also this thread will be full with negative comments i have a feeling.

I believe it means single player.

New IP like Sea of Thieves and The Last Night. Anthem was also a new IP shown off.

If people are bothered by Microsoft receiving praise, they have personal issues. Pay those people no mind and stick to the topic.

Can we blame you for jinxing it though?

Thread was jinxed when Phill Spencer was put in the OP.

depends on what you like

if you think Halo Wars 2, State of Decay 2, Forza 7 and Crackdown 3 make a good year, that is nice for you. But the numbers will tell you there is no new IP there this year, and as for variety, I'm not seeing a great deal of it either. Next year isn't looking too hot as well, even if they have Halo 6 ready.

If there are genuinely some games that are 2 years out from now, I think it would be reasonable to announce some at E3 2018.

The usual suspects could be Halo 6, Gears 2 remaster, and open world Forza.

They gotta have a couple surprises at 2018, this year was evidently make good on long awaited games and some surprised timed exclusives.

Did you think there was too much of one particular genre or aesthetic?

I hope they have a few surprises next year. I know I am kind of anti-Xbox generally, but I do have an X1 and it is probably the worst console I've bought in recent times in terms of what I've got out of it. I would love MS to have some AAA exclusive surprises next year, because this is the second year in a row where a Forza game has been the one I'm most interested in, and it is pretty disappointing.

It just seems that it's mostly shooting or Forza in general on Xbox right now, at least in terms of what I find interesting. Games that don't centre around that, like Sea of Thieves, do nothing for me unfortunately
