Steam is another can of worm... will talk proudly of putting 1k on the RIG and then wait for games to be 5 usd to buy a ton and not even play it.

I'll admit that I've fallen into that trap before. Consoles have now gone into deep discount sales with steam now. This is what makes market based economics good. It creates competiton to fight for your dollar. Those dollars circulate into innovation.

Totally agree. I buy some 1st party for 60 bucks on launch and a lot of other games by 10 2 years after... or the very discountifull games. Nothing against trying to value your money, but don't make it sound easy to fork 1k on HW to them go cheap with piracy and sell-offs.

Wipeout games in that collection are on PS3 and Vita

Yakuza 0 is also on PS3

Digimon is also on Vita

Persona 5 is also on PS3

A remaster is not a true exclusive. The remaster is but the game overall isn't exclusive.

Hellblade is also coming to PC

so Nintendo Switch has no big exclusives so far, correct?

Scratch that.

It entirely depends on why you are claiming it as an exclusive. In the console warz, the list wars battles are never about which company makes the $$. It's all about which company sells the most consoles and has the games that will help to sell those consoles. In that context being on PC and Xbox is significantly different to being on Xbox only. PC/Xbox exclusives simply do not propel Xbox hardware sales as much as Xbox only exclusives. And in the fight between PS and Xbox it's the number of hardware units that are sitting in people's homes that matters.

If you are a MS shareholder, then it makes no difference whether it's Xbox exclusive or MS exclusive. But the vast majority of shareholders are not poking around in forums like this taking sides in the console warz.

No!

"True exclusive" is only on one platform. To be able to play that game i have to have that said platform. If i want to play Gears 4, i dont need an Xbox One. so not a "true exclusive".

There's 7 pages discussing the meaning of the word exclusive...fmd

restricted to the person, group, or area concerned.
"the couple had exclusive possession of the flat"
synonyms: sole, undivided, unshared, unique, only, individual, personal, private, single, especial; dedicated
"I have reserved a room for your exclusive use"

Horizon - exclusive
Ni No Kuni 2 - not exclusive
Forza 7 - not exclusive
Halo 5 - exclusive

Naah.

Maybe if it was only on Xbox and Windows Store I'd call it an exclusive

And that's mostly because nobody buys games from the Windows Store.

Anyone who thinks piracy is good for the industry is not a fan of market based economy

Well, most people have no knowledge of economy (although I know people that know economy that will defend piracy isn't a crime because when you do it you won't take an asset or property of the other party since you are only copying).

It's almost self-evident that unless you're pirating Windows, Microsoft makes money, however indirectly, when you game on a PC.

Sure... buying a PC that comes with pre-installed windows that you bought because of work or gaming will net MS income on every game you bought.

No one said that.

Anything that promotes the use of the Windows ecosystem, including playing games on Steam via Windows, ultimately promotes income for Microsoft.

Put it this way, buying a game on Steam brings a bigger benefit to MS than Sony or Nintendo

Yeah, that sure helps it become an exclusive.

I agree in regards to Microsoft games. Other games.... timed exclusive etc etc.

I just saw an article about this the other day.

http://kotaku.com/what-a-video-game-exclusive-means-in-2017-1796024566

"Console Exclusive

It will launch on one console and also on PC, with both versions coming out at the same time. It won’t ever come out on other consoles."

So it is sort of exclusive. But really, how does Microsoft benefit from me buying a game on PC? They don't get a cut if I buy something from Steam or wherever else.
