Forums - Sales Discussion - Sony: 60.4 million sold through to consumer (ps4)

UNLIMITED MOMENTUM!
I'm not surprised, especially after seeing vids of the new silver and gold edition PS4. I thought the gold didn't look great from the box art, but it looks decent on the console itself. Silver looks great as well.

How did it sell so much? I mean exclusives aren't important any more.

More importantly how will it continue to sell after this e3. They didn't announce any new blockbuster exclusives and the current list of blockbusters set to release don't count because we already knew about them!

I just talk about it http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=229265&page=2#2

VG suddenly after the NS numbers comes, its show ps4 has massive drop down 40k on US and 10k in Japan

I know VG has hard time to track numbers but this time the undertrack was obvious

You want more blockbusters than God of war, Detroid, Days Gone, Spinderman( Finally Spide gets a game that he deserves) Uncarted lost legacy?

Yes this E3 was mediocore compere to 2015 2016 not because the lack of games but because its was no surpises but how many? the only games has left to surpises us is Silent hill to be like res 7 and Half  life 3.

Do you konow how many games has come the firs of 6 months this year and we wait Crash trilogy, Next machina, Hellblade Materfall, Knack 2 Yakuza 6, GT SPORT........

Yeah how to continue to sell after this E3 that give more gameplay for 5 AAA games That is all exclusives :)

Never had any doubt that they were still selling above peoples expectations. We have had major exclusives every month this year, and in most months there have been 2 or 3. PSVR and PS4 Pro have been selling faster than they are supplying them, and have the games to justify it (Resident Evil 7, Horizon, MLB, Farpoint).

I have no doubt Sony will surpass the 18 Million units shipped that they forecasted for FY2017. With Crash, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, Tons of new PSVR content, God of War, Hot Shots, and much, much more coming in the next 9 months, there is no reason for sales to slow down. In fact I would say as PlayStation Vue gains steam, PSVR and PS4 Pro show their value, PS+ gets overhauled (This is one of their keys to the year), and firmware upgrades continue to drive the multiplayer expereince above that of XBL, I can only see sales growing.

That's actually quite impressive, but the software a lot more so. That attach rate is damn good for any console.

Wasn't the attach rate for Wii U even higher? If I recall, it was over 10 per console.

Probably was, it has some pretty impressive software sales for certain titles, given its tiny installed base. I'm quite surprised, I expected both PS4 and Xbox One to down yoy at this point.

Wii U's attach rate is 7.3, however both the PS3 and 360 (and the OG Xbox as well) have attach ratios of over 11 (closer to 12 in the 360's case), however what is significant is that this is still comparatively early in the PS4's life. Attach rates usually increase as time passes.
