So, I had my first time with arms. And yeah.. it's fun. I enjoyed my hour fully of beating other people. I even got a perfect with monster mummy. 2vs2 team fight is a pain in the butt and volley ball is kinda meaningless to be honest.
I enjoyed 1vs1 the most followed by 4 fighters against everyone.
I guess this game is mostly enjoyed playing at home with motion controls. So the handheld aspect will suffer a lot, but I have to try playing with different control schemes first before making such judgement.
So.... in 5 hours the next phase will begin.
I am still fearing that this game still doesn't offer much content :/
So far, Monster Mummy and Ribbon Girl are my favourites.

2 issues, guard on L stick sucks and curving punches with left stick is stupid because that is also for moving

That looks so bad.

Punches should be mapped to ZL and ZR or L and R. Dash and Jump should be mapped to A and B, not X and Y. Guard could then be Y with Rush being X, and punches can be curved using the right analog stick since your thumbs would now be free. What a terrible control scheme.

Agreed, that's one of the reasons I prefer motion controls (they're really responsive on this game tbh). But the control scheme you mention seems about right for the game. I hope that Nintendo implements a mapping system for people who choose to go traditional.

exactly what i was thinking, it took awhile to get used to tgese controls.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

My 2nd time with the demo. So me and my brother tried playing with just a single joycon each and HOLY FUCK! I was doing much better than motion controls! I was more relaxed with sitting down. And I didn't really have to worry about the motions being 100% correct.

Definitely going to play like this!

Hopefully you'll be able to remap the control scheme in the actual game.

This is made by the MK team, so I doubt it.

I played the test punch. The controls are better than I expected, but curving punches really shouldn't be mapped to the left stick.

Well that was fun! Only got in 20min on the last round but it was cool. It's easy to pick up and have fun but there is absolutely nuance here. And not only does Wii Boxing style flailing not help you win, it actively hinders you. Shockingly this is a game that requires a measured approach, requiring you to think on your toes but not panic .

Forgot that I wanted to see how it plays in handheld mode, next session for sure!

From my experience so far it seems like Master Mummy is the most beginner friendly character with his super armor and heavy priority arm making it easier to punch spam, while Helix is the hardest to learn with his weirdo movements and very different default arms compared to the rest. I thought Helix was among the most popular characters but he's been used the least, guessing the aforementioned learning curve is why.

Can't play in handheld mode, I use a weird grip when playing fighting games (kinda like an arcade stick)

That reminds me, wasn't there a arcade stick among the 3rd party accessories for the Switch when it was announced and would it work for this game?
