There are supposed to be 900 korok seeds. Crazy, as you said the density doesn't seem that high.

By the way, I've just to some maths in my own game right now to see how the completion rate works. And, yep, I feel you're right about korok seed percentage. I found two and one time the percentage went up 0.09 and the other one 0.08, so it has to be between both numbers. Then, another interesting conclusion was that the percentage went up a 0.9 again after finding a new area. So that should count on the percentage. What was totally unexpected was that when I beat a new shrine, the percentage stayed the same. So they don't really count, just Koro seeds and exploring new areas. Maybe sub-bosses? I have some of them marked in the map, I'll beat one and see what happens now.

EDIT: So, no, it's still the same. Something's off XD.

900 Koroks would be ~75%. Sidequests and shrine quests have a xx/yy completion information after Ganon has been defeated, so maybe these count towards completion percentage. And yes, getting an area name (e.g. a bridge) added to the map increases the percentage.

What exactly is in the treasure chests that people get for buying the expansion pass? There are supposedly three chests, one of them containing a T-shirt. When the DLC was announced, it wasn't specified what the "useful item" is. I like BotW a lot, so I'll probably buy the DLC anyway. If that useful item helps with map completion, then I'd buy the DLC right away instead of waiting until the holidays for the more interesting story expansion.

EDIT: The treasure chests contain a Switch T-shirt, bomb arrows x5 and a ruby. Useful early in the game, yes. Special, no.

I think that the map feature that will release with the season pass could probably help to game completion. If not, I'm not sure what that feature be XD.

Makes sense you have to kill some enemies first that can respawn. 6 minutes is not a lot to return from just one region away (without fast travel anyway). There's plenty more to dicover. I just made my way all the way back to mount Agaat as I had to leave that one the first time passing through. It's off limits lol, you can't go that way.
I decended into the desert again, explored the west end, then made it into Gerudo town when sleep caught up with me. Had to quit at 2am already, weak.

Six minutes is a lot of time. It took me less than two minutes from the closest shrine to get back to the riddle. Ignore your self-imposed no-fast-travel rule for timing-based riddles and you'll be fine.

Never, once you use it once, it's only going to be easier the next time! Maybe when it's the last one left :) I still didn't get another bloodmoon while fighting all the way from there to Mount Agaat, messing with a Linel along the way, then down into the desert then east to Gerudo town. I love making long journeys like that, that really showcases the scope of the game, epic adventure.

Yeah, that's possible. The new map feature is a part of the first DLC pack, so we'll find out this summer

Btw, where are you checking that completion percentage? I can't find it anywhere. Is it only available after completing the game?
(I haven't been to Kariko town yet, my sheika slate is still has many pages locked)

Exactly, you have to kill Ganon to check your percentage.

I'm 41 shrines in, and one divine beast. I also need to step up my Korok game (9/600).

Are there really 600? I must have missed quite a few ways to find them, but I can't imagine that there's more to it than lifting rocks and obvious objects/arrangements of objects in the environment.

Regardless, a single Korok adds 0.0825% to the completion percentage, so that gives me at least somewhat of an idea where all the percent could come from. 600 Koroks would amount to ~50%.

There's more to it.

Take the route leading out of Kakariko to the south (following the road). There's a series of stone cubes in the wall, with one sitting on the ground. Magnesis it into place for a Korok seed.

Then back in Kakariko, there's five statues with offering bowls in front of them. Four have apples, and one is empty. Put an apple in the empty one for a Korok seed.

There was also a sequence with balloons... a race... there was this thing where I had to make three conspicuously lined up trees all have the same number of fruit.

There's a bunch.

Haha, I remember that shrine. Completing the bonus track took me about 2 hours! I was short before giving up.

Spoiler: The Triforce is not in that bonus chest

Well at least I'm not alone then.

I'll try again at some point. When I have more hammers.

Honestly, it's starting to get really boring. I'm just here running all across Nucledia, Lanayru and Faron trying to find more shrines, pretty much the only element in the game that are keeping me on boat. Otherwise there's not much else to do, combat isn't as addicting as I was hoping, enemies just keep repeating over and over and get old very fast and side quests are just annoying fetch quests. The Heroic Challenges are the ones that seem interesting and more dynamic, but so far I have received very few and their instructions are either too cryptic or request me to go too far away.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Whenever I start to get bored with a certain area I just go explore some more or do the main quest. Have you finished the main quest?

I'm not very far in the main story, I still need to find all the Divine Beasts and 10 memories. In fact, I did a little bit of the Zora arc, and it was entertaining, but I didn't save it as I want to upgrade myself the most I can and get better equipment, and the three aforementioned regions have been enough to fulfill those objectives. I guess it's true I should go to other regions and discover new things, but I usually like to complete or gather the most I can in the starting zones of other open world games.
