Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch Issues - List them here

Ok I am about 1hour away of deciding if I go pick up a Switch.

We herd reports that the left joycon wasn't syncing correctly etc etc..

Just want to know if anyone has experienced this yet or any other hardware related issue?

Please no stupid comments on how the console gfx suck or offtopic how awesome it is, just want to know hardware and software related issues with the console

Primary Issue: It won't be arriving until Saturday

Unforgivable imo

I think the word is the syncing issue would be fixed via a day 1 firmware update.

Cnet meme aside, the kickstand is genuinely flimsy and bad. Also i cant imagine anyone with big hands finding the joycons comfy. Luckily i have smaller hands :^)

Oh and if you want to use it as a portable youll need to have a usb c cable seperate as it doesnt come with one unless you buy a pro controller. Something to bear in mind.

Oh, thanks a bunch, no way I would have thought about that, gonna pick up my switch sometime today.

Torn-City - MMO text based RPG, join me! :)

when I was downloading Snipperclippers earlier while playing Fast RMX the system had this weird freak out for a moment where it froze up a bit and made this loud buzzing noise until I restarted it. (this was in handheld mode)

Now that has been a contained incident at the moment, but will keep an eye on that. Will be playing Zelda a lot in the next few days and obviously if nothing weird happens I will assume it was a one off

Overall though its honestly a pretty stellar little system. really comfortable controls (with Joycons in handheld mode). I have yet to play on the TV, in a bit will try docked. I have held the Joycon controller and it feels nice (that is, the 2 Joycons attached to the Joycon grip).

System UI is nice. very streamlined.

A complaint I have is they should provide more system user avatars, no Pikachu or Pokemon ones? seriously? get on that Nintendo.

Also I did notice that if you play, say, Fast RMX on handheld mode while the system is plugged into charge, it does get fairly warm. Not too shocking though when you're playing demanding games at 60 FPS or whatever on the handheld

the quality seems there. People were kind of talking smack about the $300 price tag in the past but I think its insanely clean and sleek upon unboxing. It FEELS nice for what you're paying.

Also... the screen is fantastic. Coming from someone who was using the 3DS dual screen for a while and hated it (made my eyes mega uncomfortable), the Switch screen is mega clear.

Once thing I will mention about the menu interface though is it can be awkward to see that the way you get into SOME options is actually to click up to a very small username icon. Did not notice that at first so it took a few to determine

Enjoy! Yeah was surprised the AC adapter couldnt be detached and used as a seperate USB-C cable considering they're promoting the portability of the device.

I've only got Micro USBs around the house, so gonna have to pick one up before I fly out.

For me, I think the bezels on the current iteration are fairly unattractive on what is otherwise good looking hardware.

ill wait for a revision, that will be cheaper too.

As someone who still uses their Surface Pro 1 daily, the bezels aint too bad. Could definitely be a thinner tablet. In fact I reckon the tablet is only as thick as it is to accomodate for the joycons.

  • Few games
  • Rear panel fitment is shitty
  • Left controller being DOA on some systems, making whole system unusable (Cannot get past sync screen in setup)
  • Play in joycon rails while locked in place
  • Some users reporting DOA Ac adapters
  • Weak WiFi reception
  • Flimsy/poor kickstand
  • Quite a few reports of both official and fake Micro SDXC cards not being properly recognized
  • Does not charge beyond 86-89% when docked, drops to that range if docked at 100% and playing Zelda
  • Lots of retarded people putting the straps on backwards and getting them stuck/damaging the rail trying to undo their fail.
  • One user on the whole entire internet is getting error code 2137-8028 when tryng to connect
