GTsport can feel that gap.

Having looked over this thread and seeing stuff i even missed, its impressive the amount of exclusives PS4manages to have all year round. Good stuff. Like i just remembered Ni no kuni

Maybe I underestimate the popularity of racing games because I'm not a big fan, maybe because I get used to yearly Forza titles, but I don't think that GT is THAT big as a new console and the first holiday of another new console.

But I agree with the part of the amount of exclusives. I always end up discovering new PS4 exclusives that I will miss for not having a PS4.

having yearly Forza is exactly why GT launching is a bigger deal.  It doesn't come every year.  That's like saying a new Halo isn't exciting as an FPS owner because COD comes out every year (flawed example because COD sells amazing anyway but still my point stands).  GT endures because it is sold the whole gen rather than modified and shipped again every year as a new game.

GT Sport probably for holiday.

But srsly, is anyone else hyped up for the new God of war? I've only played #3 but Norse mythology feels sooooooo right.

Please go play the first two :)

What's the norm? Do games get announced for the first time at E3 for a holiday release the same year? Seems the trend has been to announce games at E3 that are at least not releasing until some time the following year.

GOD of War one week before Scorpio Hits.

With at least one boss level being a big scorpion that Kratos destroys brutally.

I think we could see God of War later this year. Cory Barlog did say the game was playable from start to finish

don't see why it would be delayed to 2018.

I also see spiderman releasing this year.

As a racing guy, the Forza games aren't the same games year after year. Annual=/= the same game each year. Forza Horizon 3 was critically acclaimed and better selling than the last three forza games. They are two sub-series that are substansially different from each other. Also Forza 3 and 4 were clearly better than GT5 last gen. Unless fatigue hits, there is no reason not to keep it an annual franshise.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

God of war has been playable from Start to finish for a while now, which makes me think their prepping it for a March 2018 release. I see GT Sport or Spider-Man as the likely candidates. I feel like Spider-Man is going to hop on that Thor: Ragnarok train as a Marvel Property.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

There's always a possibility that they won't have any games this holiday season. They don't seem to like to compete with the big third-party games that come to the PS4 in Q4. They have so many games announced that I have a hard time imagining that Gran Turismo Sport, Knack 2, and Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy are the only remaining ones to come out this year.

Spider-Man, God of War, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Death Stranding, and The Last of Us: Part II definitely won't come out this year. There's a chance that Dreams, Wild, Detroit: Become Human, or Days Gone will hit late this year though. I think it would be a really bad idea to release any of those games in the crowded holiday season though. They all seem like January-May releases. But then, so did The Last Guardian.

Then there's stuff that they haven't announced yet. We can safely say that we'll probably get a glimpse at Sucker Punch's game this year, but that will probably be a 2018 or even 2019 release. Maybe Bloodborne 2? The Souls games are big enough that I could see it holding it's own in the holiday season. Maybe a surprise reveal and quick release like The Order 2, Playstation All-Stars X Capcom, or something else similar to that which Sony will take a gamble on.

GT Sports and nothing else
