We should wait for where will VGChartz put the Switch in at the front page. The left side (home consoles) or the right side (handhelds)

We already know where they are going to put it, don't we?

They're still a dedicated videogame company and that's all that really matters, I mean I don't buy systems for their form factor. Even if the Switch couldn't be played on the TV, didn't have independent controllers, didn't have home console quality controls, and couldn't do local multiplayer on a single screen, I'd still get it, not because it's a handheld but because it has Nintendo games!

It is both, the power is what it is. Get over it.

Buy it or don't, your call. I play games not pointless labels, so my switch is preordered.

So ummm....

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

My point being it won't be treated as a home console. Its a handheld with a dock.

Who won't treat it like a home console?

Handheld with a dock - or home console with a screen and attachable controllers.

Does it matter, the majority of handheld use is in the home yet we think of them in terms of their portablity , I don't see this changing with the switch , later on with more data on the split % between TV and switch screen use, coupled with the movement rate of traditional  non nintendo handheld titles versus home console titles onto the switch should give us a clearer picture of how the public view it.

Did you actually read the background info on this issue? The Switch runs at a higher resolution when docked than when portable, and most of the framerate issues have been improved with the day 1 launch patch.

Stop necroing your clickbait thread :p

Just because it isn't strong, doesn't mean the console/handheld hybrid philosophy is gone.

It's both combined. Simple as that. Even if it was as weak as an N64, it'd still be a handheld/console fusion. not that hard to understand
