Zelda: Breath of the Wild, 1 2 Switch, Mario Kart Deluxe, ARMS, Splatoon 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Super Mario Odyssey

That's seven 1st party titles we know about and its very likely they are saving some announcements for E3 or future directs.

Yeah, DeNA is a technical partner, but what DeNA does is the Mobage-platform, which is a platform for mobile games, some of them popular in Asia. So porting Mobage to Switch would provide a platform for mobile devs to easily release games on thne Switch. It would be great. Or what else could the mention of DeNA mean?

DeNa may bring games, but more than likely they are just technical partner like Unity.

You still misunderstand me. DeNA is a technical partner and does not bring games itself. But I don't know what they can offer besides Mobage. But Mobage itself would bring games, but from others. You should think something along the lines of Steam for mobile.

I don't know which else DeNA has potentially to offer for the Switch. But this would be a technical assist, which would bring games. So if DeNA-support means Mobage it would indeed be something big, at least for Asia.

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

They'll probably have games releasing in 2018. Not realistic to expect them all year one.

They probably didn't announce any because Zelda and Mario and splatoon 2 was there, which would overshadow it.

Next time (e3) would be much better to show them.

not sure why you'd expect all them to necessarily have announced their projects at this point in time. Bear in mind Nintendo recently claimed there are like 80 Switch software projects CURRENTLY being worked on, so clearly like half of them are things that are still in the dark for us

for example - Sega announced very little but its hard to imagine they don't have a number of things projected to be on the Switch that are already in development, Sega games (like their older IP) generally sell fairly well on Nintendo platforms

In due time, maybe in a Direct or at E3?

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

I was waiting for a Re7 port 🤕

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

E3 will likely show all these games. I'm hoping for a longer presentation and live on stage. I think they might want to do that. We'll see.

I think that a lot of games were held back for strategic reason for Nintendo. They want to get the hardware out on the market, and make it crystal clear what the consumer is getting right out of the box. I can actually imagine that things could have gone worse if they went too far and there could have been a backlash if consumers misunderstood a certain concept or gimmick if you will; thinking it was part of the core baseline experience :)

I think the whole point of it was to showcase the hardware. They showed us how it works and the different ways we can utilize it's controls. They showed us the launch line up. They showed us Mario as many people would expect that from Nintendo. They should us small teasers of 3rd party support. Regardless the event was about the hardware, NOT the software. I think a lot of people didn't expect Nintendo to focus more on this side of things over the games as they normally do. Also more importantly they informed the consumers that there will be a paid online subscription service. The reason for this is likely due to the notion that many people expected the online service to be free and not subscription based. So by informing the costumers this they know what they are getting into and will not be surprised if they brought the console assuming otherwise. Besides this Nintendo is not yet ready to announced their online plans at this time.

I think a lot of third party games like Ubisoft and even Nintendo games like Pikmin World will be saved for E3, and for good reason. I think some of these have the potential to blow people away when they get revealed. It may be possible that a few users here might be reduced to dust upon the grand showcase reveal.

For now focus on what we have. If you like it buy it, but if you change your mind later and you feel that the Switch is the console for you. Be advise that the demand for the console may actually become higher in the future as more games and features are revealed. It's also entirely possible that this console might not be for you. Unfortunately yes it does appear to be a little pricey in the grand scheme of things to have the best possible experience on the Switch. For some people the PS4 or Xbox One might seem like a better value and even cheaper alternative to their gaming habits. One of my growing concerns for the Switch is how it'll appeal to children and how parents can be convinced get the most value out of this amazing device at the most affordable prices.

BoTW is from the Zelda Team, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and ARMS are from the same Team, Splatoon 2 is part of the Animal Crossing Team, Super Mario Odyssey is the 3D world/Captain Toad Team, Xenoblade 2 is Monolith. 1 2 Switch are the Miitopia guys. That leaves several of Nintendos internal developement studios that are due for a game unaccounted for. Most prominently EPD 4, Retro and Next Level games. (Yeah, I know NLG are technically second party but they work exclusively with Ninty now, so I'm including them.)

Arzest is working on the 3ds Pikmin.

Good-Feel has been working on the Yoshis Woolly World 3DS port, but it's unlikely that they needed their whole team for that, so they probably have something on the backburner that they've been working on since Woolly World for WiiU was completed (possibly woolly DK, since retro isn't working on that series anymore). They have a long developement cycle though, so it's unlikely that we'll see anything from them soon.)

EPD 1

EPD 1 has been working on ARMS, probably with the majority of the Team, while the rest was busy porting Mario Kart 8 deluxe and making a proper battle mode for that. They might have a small core team working on the next Mario Kart as well, ready to begin proper production once ARMS is out, but that's just speculation.

EPD 2

EPD 2 has partly been working on Splatoon 2, while the Aminal crossing side of the team (there's almost no overlap between the two teams as far as we know, only the EX-Animal Crossing Director got put in charge of Splatoon) has been putting out smaller stuff like Happy Home Designer and the New Leaf Update. I feel like they probably have a small core team working on a new Animal Crossing also, but there's really no way to be sure.

EPD 3

Team Zelda. Nuff said.

EPD 4

The biggest mystery to me is EPD 4, wich do 2D Mario and Pikmin and are completely MIA. My closest guess is that they were developing Pikmin 4 wich was nearing completion in September 2015 according to Miyamoto and have done the SMM 3DS port since, wich really shouldn't take their whole team. They've either run into massive developement problems with bringing Pikmin 4 from WiiU to Switch, or have the game finished sitting on a shelf and have been working on something new with the majority of the team.

EPD 5

Made Star Fox 0 in collaboration with Platnium. Not sure how big this Team is and if they are capable of woking two Projects at once. If they are, they are due for a game, if they aren't it's probably not until next year that we will see anything out of them since they only would have started Developement in early 2016.

EPD 6

Miitopia and 1 2 Switch. All we could really expect.

EPD 7

They make Rythm Heaven and Wario Ware as well as Mii games (MiiTomo, Tomodachi Life) and are currently unaccounted for. (This might be the same Team as EPD 6 though? The fact that they did miitopia makes me think it's likely. I haven't found concrete sources for this and have seen them listed as seperate Teams so that's what I did here. )

EPD 8

3D Mario. Currently working on Mario Odyssey.

EPD 9 (+10?)

Again, confusion starts to arise when we get into the smaller development teams at nintendo. Consensus seems to be 3DS projects (Louvre guide and Streetpass) and N64 ports (Zelda OoT and MM) are handled by them. Other than that they help out other teams when needed. Used to make Brain age games.

Other Studios:

Monolith

Xenoblade 2. They've supposedly been working on a 3DS RPG since 2013. They were hiring character designers and art directors for that. With the Xenoblade port, I wonder if Xenoblade 2 was initially intended for 3DS and later moved over to the Switch. That would explain how the game is simultaniously far enough in development to apparently release this year as well as the somewhat lackluster environments compared to Xenoblade Chronicles X, despite being on a stronger machine. Their Kyoto studio is helping out with Zelda.

Retro

Retro is unaccounted for. They were rumored to be big enough to work on two games at the same time, a while back. Rumors also suggest Diddy Kong Racing in collaboration with Monster and a new IP from Retro.

HAL

Recenly released Kirby. Is working on Box Boy 3. Might be working on Kirby or helping out with a Smash port.

ND Cube

Mario Party.

Camelot

Is doing the new 3DS Mario Sports game. (I forget what it's called.)

Intelligent Systems

Apparently have up to 4 teams. Fire Emblem came out in Summer 2015 in Japan. It's save to say that they've been working on the next one, possibly for the Switch, ever since. Might be too early to show off though. E3 Maybe? We do know that a Pushmo WiiU game has repeadedly been put on the back burner, so the team could assist with a switch title.

Paper Mario just came out. Barring a Switch port of Color Splash we wont hear anything Paper Mario related in the next 3-4 years.

The Codename S.T.E.A.M. team should be working on something as well.

Grezzo

Grezzo is developing Ever Oasis for 3DS.

Next Level Games

They have two teams and should be able to work on two games simultaniously. Federation Force just released last year, but they should have another game almost finished. Luigis Mansion Switch?

There. Sorry for the mega-post, but that's all Ii could find on it. There should be a potential 6-7 first party games ready this year, unless nintendo ran into big developement troubles for the Switch. It's save to say that quite a few resources went into 3DS ports and general support though. Even though they dropped all support for WiiU basically in 2015, dialed back 3DS support and put smaller recources into 'quick ports' of WiiU games (or in Splatoon 2s case, reusing the WiiU engine), Nintendo still seems to have trouble to support two Platforms at once.

I get why they're not wiling to drop 3DS support yet, and their willingness to license their IP like with Hyrule Warriors and Pokken will help, but they really need to get their act toghether.

ARMS looks amazing, but for 1 2 Switch the value is just not there for the price they're asking. Splatoon 2 needs to do a little more than just have new gear/weapons and maps, for me. If they have an expanded single player campaign I'm in. Mario looks good, but is far off and I'm cautious about the possibility of Xenoblade 2 being delayed. BotW and MK8 Deluxe are ports and at least in MK8 Deluxes case, there's little incentive to get it as a WiiU owner.
