Forums - Microsoft Discussion - It is 2017, the year of PROJECT SCORPIO, are you ready for the beast!?

Xbox one is always aiming for the best experience. The controller, xbox live, xbox interface, features. Now games will look and run A LOT better than any console. Not to mention xbox one exclusives for 2017 is pretty good. Killer Instinct season 4, Forza 6, Sea of thieves, Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3.

In a way, I feel sorry for M$. They can address every issue people have and they'll still come up short.

-No power brick? It was never a big deal.
-Console looks like a VCR? We never cared.
-Controller uses batteries? So what.
-Best version of multiplats? It's not exclusive so it doesn't matter.
-Good exclusives? I'll just play them on my TV.
-Most powerful? Frame rates and resolution don't matter anymore. I don't even notice them.
-Focus on gaming? I can't forgive them for E3 2013.

There's literally nothing M$ can do to win because the fact of the matter is people just like other brands more. They'll let emotions stand in the way of a good/better experience. Things only matter and are blown out of proportion when M$ doesn't do it as well as the competition.

It's their job to sell the public on this console but I don't think it can be done.

I'm ready for true 4K gaming!!!
Buying this and switch day one!

Well, to be fair, it's the year of the Switch & Scorpio. One will lose, the other come out on top, but which will be which?!

To be honest, a lot of people (myself included) consider that the PS4 Pro almost is a niche product. It sells a lot less than the PS4 Slim and has no reason to do better than that: broad audience don't care about ultra-mega-4K-HDR-power consoles when they just don't have the TV for it (and the vast majority of players don't care about it), and when there is another version of the same console playing the exact same games, but cheaper. This console is only useful for hardcore console gamers looking for the best resolution and FPS in their games but without a PC (or for the best resolution/FPS for PS4 exclusives), and who own the adequate TV. This is a relatively small market.

Sony can't sell this thing well because of this, and nobody should expect anything else about it. I don't understand why saying the exact same thing about the Scorpio (minus the "best resolution/FPS for exclusives" because the best resolution and FPS for MS exclusives are on PC) means that we let emotions stand in the way because we don't like MS. The PS4 Pro didn't set the charts on fire, the Scorpio won't either, nothing to do with emotions here. Even the brand doesn't matter that much.

Year of Scorpio... after seeing 2017 PS4 exclusives trailer I don't know about it, but sure Aaron...

I mean power is great Zen+Vega on APU maybe? What about the games though?

Or they are just excited about best looking version of Red Dead Redemption 2? Rockstar signed deal with Sony on that though so not sure...

Some on twitter where saying the same basically...
