I'd say the power difference on paper won't be ignored because it can't be. It's there.

Discussions will be on whether Scorpio's native 4K games are drastically better than PS4P's checkerboard games. If you ask me, I expect similar differences to Xbox One's 900p to PS4's 1080p.

In extension to that, is the $150 over the PS4P worth the improved visuals, and what happens when the Scorpio has to do upscaling for some games...

Fun times ahead.

I think Scorpio will have to do something other than best looking 4k, cause I think checker boarding on PS4pro will be enough to not make that difference a big deal.

So if they do what Sony have failed to do so far with the Pro, and focus on improving 1080p then it could be very interesting, though they'll have to throw money at developers as seen with the Pro, there seems to be very little appetite for making better versions of games for now reason.

Wow...I think you are jumping a little bit, perhaps you need to read "Sony have failed to do so far with the Pro".... i.e they have yet to do so. I never said it had failed, just they havent done a very good job with the games/PR of the device.

So you think it's gone well on the 1080p front so far then? Games that run 4k fine at 30FPS that dont have a downsample version, where the PS4 version runs exactly the same.... they need to improve, I'm not saying they wont, just so far the marketing/positioning could be better, do you not agree?

Sure, ready for another year of wild speculation, rumors, secret sauce, lots of PR words, countless nitpicking, pixel/fps counting youtube preview videos, then after 2 more rounds of gpu releases, numerous threads on how to build a $500 Scorpio PC before it releases.

Meanwhile the most likely to happen is a 0.18 tf handheld hybrid to run away with sales. It's going to be a fun year, where sadly VR will mostly continue to be ignored. (Unless Nintendo actually does it)
