Mmmhmmm... okay buddy...

I believe a simple state ID should be required for voting. I think that's what the average right winger wants but dems are against it for BS reasons.

So the same party that thinks a state ID for voting is a burden for colored people also thinks we should have a national ID to work? Did you actually read the article, left wing groups hate it.

You're purposefully misunderstanding or you're someone who ignores factors that hamper acquisition of an ID or don't believe they exist because you, personally, aren't affected by them.

Every time something about voter ID comes up, right wingers make the idiotic comment that "they're against it because they think their constituents are too stupid to get an ID". This isn't an issue of being "too stupid". You only use that to invoke an emotional response in support of your position.

Just some anecdotal evidence, but I wasn't able to get an ID in Texas at first. Because the documentation I brought wasn't "good enough". I had to have a bill in my name. Imagine a poor person who doesn't have bills in their name, and that's a main requirement for an ID. Also, imagine the closest DMV is 10+ miles away and you have to rely on public transportation. Imagine you work some shitty job that doesn't have flexible scheduling, you work 10-6 and the DMV closes at 5. What about any of that is saying someone is "too stupid"  to get an ID? None of it does and you know it  The process was just so simple for someone like you that you don't see it from someone else's perspective, so you must be "stupid" if they can't follow this "easy" process. Because we live in a vacuum with no outside factors contributing to our diverse daily lives.

For someone like me, who's in a good position currently, those kinds of things don't affect me. I was able to go back home and get the proper documents and go back the next day. But I acknowledge that they affect others. That's why people have IDs other than state IDs, and then Republicans turn around and only say state IDs are valid. That's not a BS reason to be against voter ID laws. Voter ID laws like what Republicans support specifically targets certain demographics and discriminates against them. I literally provided a link showing that Republican leaders were researching breakdowns of groups by race for who has drivers licenses. That they want "specific types of photo ID", so the forms of ID most common amongst minority groups, then, becomes disqualified.

And yes, I read the article. Hence why I posted it. A national ID would have one set of rules and provisions to obtain them. As opposed to various rules in various states, which, like I said, Republican change things up to make it tougher for minorities to get them. A national ID would absolutely absolve those issues.

Again, we expect too little of people when getting an ID is treated as massive burden.

Democrats are against the national ID thing so give the republican anti minority BS a rest. I'm a minority and I call BS.

If anything I support assisting people on getting IDs.

And yet i see the same ill-informed behavior here..

What the fuck is up with the double-morality?

We all know perfectly why US voters picked Trump over Hillary, if that after 20 years still surprises anyone here, they better shut the fuck up cause they have the same problem they accuses.

Corporate-Media always picks easy targets, people who they believe is easy to trigger or twist to their advantage.
So why are you trusting CNN? Do you really believe they air Trump supporter who know how to talk for himself?
No they won't... Basically News is a Business who creates their own narrative and perspective of a truth to fit their own agenda.

CNN have lied more then Fox-News have this year, the only reason why you can't see that is because you all are no different then the Trump-supporter you generalized over 20 million people for, you are pointing finger at the same mistake you all did yourself... You only trust the news that support your own idealist-bubble.
CNN doesn't fact-check everything either, no news does.... Who twisted all of your minds into the blind deceit that Hillary had a 100% chance to win this entire year when Hillary barely had any rallies cus barely 200 people showed up on the ones she had, when Trump had giant stadiums with 20-30 000 people? C.mon? The Hillary crowd was the worst and is still the worst out of two..

I am tired of the false Racism-accusations and all the hate from false Liberals and democrats, cause they are no better with their fact-checking, they just end up screaming and calling you stupid when they can't explain their own false narrative.
And i do actually hate the real racist's on both sides. Yes, there are tons of racist's on both sides...

Why is there thousands of people walking around with communist flags in these riot's to force their will on America i don't know... I am on 3-5 protest's every year and i am a progressive, i would never join that group of insane people who use violence and foreign flags to shit on my own country, it's just dumb.

Do you not see the irony in your own post? I'm not surprised if a lot of things don't make sense to you. Spare yourself from the embarrassment.

Not really, but I do see the projection in yours.  Are you claiming your previous quote wasn't edited?  Even if we're butting heads on that point, would you rather want to focus back on the core argument regarding voting/voter fraud?  Because you did indeed make a "less facile" argument to 2nd time, but still ignoring many, many complexities about this issue.

Here's a beefier list of qualms when people are discussing the grander picture of eletoral fraud: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_fraud

Now, I'm not saying all of these have to apply in this context but this is a much better springboard than condescendly stating outright "okay here's the deal: you have to be registered to vote, for that you have to be a citizen."  That's why I initially responded the way I did.  This claim takes just a bit of intellctual rigor to pop.

You're a special case. You took my statement and made a pretence lol. All I did was tell people how to vote for federal elections if they didn't know how to. It is just that, a statement. I made it as simple as possible. That's why I said you did not thought this through. acknowledge your mistake, learn from it, and move on.

And this was preceded by, wait for it, within the context of voter fraud and a debunked claim of x number of illegal voters this election.

Correction. It's a statement taken out of context.

Shall we discuss about semantics elsewhere? hit me up with a PM, don't derail my thread.

There is a massive amount of people who believe what they want to believe. They watch their chosen pundit or go to their favorite biased websites and swallow what they're told hook, line, and sinker.

Awhile back, someone on this forum posted something they got off Facebook and presented it as the truth. It was totally unsourced and they made zero effort to even CHECK to see if any of it was true. They simply trusted it because it fit right into their pre-existing agenda.

Millions of other people are the same way. One of the reasons I haven't signed into Facebook in over a year, actually.

Where I used to work, we'd get a lot of older men who had nothing to do so they'd they come and talk. A lot of the conversations would go something like--

Old Man: "They say Obama is going after the Christians next."
Me: "Oh? Who said that?"
Old Man: "They did."
Me: "Who is 'they'"?
Old Man: "Huh?"
Me: "Where did you get that information from?"
Old Man: "Uh, I don't know. People. They were talking about it at church so it must be true."

I had fun with conversations like that many, many, many times. The infamous "they" are always right.

Also, before someone says, "lol u r a hillray supportor lol," I fully expect the same thing to happen with Trump, though not in my community.

Lol u r a hillray supportor lol

"Expect too little" is just "too stupid", rephrased. So, again, you're relying on an emotional response to support your position.

Man, I really didn't think it was true, but we really live in a post-fact world now, where the truth doesn't matter. Trump can tweet out completely baseless claims about 3 million illegal votes, and you've got people like in the OPs video believing it, and Republican leadership saying "who cares" when the leader of the free world openly lies. I literally gave you examples of why it could be difficult to get an ID, and I literally showed you examples of Republican leadership suppressing the minority vote...and you just brushed it off.

See, this is how I know you don't read up on the issues and you're just stuck in your opinion. You're one of the people who think "why is having an ID to vote so bad" and then act like everything is accessible to others like it is for you.

If you actually read up on the issues, you'd know it's literally in the democratic platform to expand acceptable forms of ID in order to vote, not restrict them like Republicans.

You're wrong on Democrats being against a national ID (I also provided a link showing Democrat support for that, but again, we live in a post-fact world now, so you ignored it). You were wrong about Republicans suppressing minority votes.

Get out of your bubble

Get out of your bubble

I'm being emotional? Simply because I feel people should complete the simple task of getting an ID? I genuinely feel bad for anyone so useless they can't figure out how to get an ID. That's one of the easiest things I've accomplished in my life. Granted there might be special cases and those should be assisted.

The article you posted showed dems/left wing groups against the national ID. As long as dems think getting an ID is a burden for minorities and support illegals in this country, they will never support a national ID. I don't believe any party would get behind the national IDs being proposed for privacy concerns, cost, and ofcourse it will somehow hurt minorities.

Living in a bubble is what hurt dems this election.

You cannot register to vote in federal elections with a non-citizen driver's license.

I know is a bit of a wall of text, but at least make an effort to read it all and the source. Here, I'll paste again a part you obviously missed:

 - Real ID Act (2005):

It made verification of immigration status a requirement for IDs such as the drivers license, but only 24 states and territories follow it. Some of these states alleged to comply but still continued issuing drivers licenses and state ID cards to illegal aliens and non-citizen short-term visitors.

“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).

I didn't say you were being emotional. I said you're giving an opinion that invokes an emotional response to support your position. Similar to how people are against legalizing marijuana when they say "think of the children".

And yes, you are in a bubble. "I genuinely feel bad for anyone so useless they can't figure out how to get an idea", "complete the simple task", "that's one of the easiest things I've accomplished in my life". You, again, ignored that there are factors that don't affect you like they affect others.

And the article I posted literally showed democratic support for national IDs. "Democratic leaders have proposed requiring every worker in the nation to carry a national identification card with biometric information." It's literally the second paragraph. It's the ACLU that opposes national ID, for privacy concerns. But, living in your bubble, you probably think the ACLU = Democrats, because they are a "liberal organization".....even though they've defended the KKK and the Westboro Baptist Church.

And it's not that Democrats think getting an ID is a burden.....it's that the know that the types of ID required with Republican voter ID laws are discriminatory against minorities, hence why they want to expand the acceptable forms of ID to vote. And support a National ID because it would be the most accessible form of ID since everybody would follow the same process to obtain one.
