Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Bethesda: Skyrim is not confirmed for Switch

Wait so they worked on porting the game to the console just not not have it come out. Yeah sure...

Or Nintendo used a video of Skyrim without the game ever being in the works for the Switch.

Thats clearly deception. Why have it running on the system in the trailer then?...

So they can reserve the right to pull out should the Switch flop Wii U/EA battlefield style.

Clearly, and if it succeeds then they can claim they've been with the Switch from day one. lol

That's false advertising taken to a whole new level.

Revealing it one week before launch wasn't smart at all. Specially when we know nothing about NS and that could be the superior version. I expect them to confirm it after the launch sales.

Its not happening. Even if it does, it will most likely be the 2011 version.

That's what I was thinking.  I'm not going to say it will never happen, but if it does it'll most likely be a port of the last gen version, but with all the DLC.  They may tack Special Edition on it, but it's not going to be up to par with the PS4/XBO version, and miles behind the Pro version.

What the faq? Why would they show it then?

Remember this box? and the logo shown on stage for the Vita reveal? Sometimes games just don't happen as shown on the reveal of a console, still though, they're working with Bethesda which means there are "games" on the way, even if they aren't Skyrim.

It's sad we never got that game.  It would have been awesome.  Oh well. :'-(

False Advertising 101

Clear NDA at work. IGN reached out to the publishers/developers mentioned in the email, and Ubisoft was the ONLY one to name an specific game. They're probably not allowed to talk about games that haven't been officially announced, like Just Dance 2017 was.

Yes the game was showed but never announced as an official release. That's coming later on.

It just PR talk, game is coming on PS4/XB1 this month and Switch in March.
Bethesda already confirmed Switch partnership and suport.
There is no way that Nintendo would show 3rd party game runing on Switch if they are not 100% sure that game is coming on it.

I wonder if all the gameplay clips they showed on the Switch trailer were actually running on the system or if it was a vid of the PC version.

All the clips were mounted into the video. They showed zero frames of real gameplay.
