I have a graph below from gaf showing the ps4 vs Wii U launch alligned.  PS4 is equal to ps3 alligned.  It's doing well.  Wii U started decently before falling off.  The 15 month headstart was the only reason it's taken this long. 

 

 

The ps4 is trending really healthily and software support is finally ramping up. Psvr,  PS pro,  FFXV,  Yakuza still to hit this year. Also next year most games will lose their ps3 support which will help further. Good times ahead!

Well the Wii U was bound to not be a complete disaster in at least one region. 

 

Ps4 passed out the lifetime sales of Wii U in the UK the week ut launched.  That's more the Wii U doing abysmal than the ps4 doing great.  

 

Expecting similar performance in Japan is ludicrous.  It would of had to launch in Japan with a crazy total.  Wii U in comparison to similar markets like the UK and Germany actually did decent.  Up until late 2015 most people didn't think ps4 would pass the Wii U this year.  It's actually a surprise.
