I have a graph below from gaf showing the ps4 vs Wii U launch alligned. PS4 is equal to ps3 alligned. It's doing well. Wii U started decently before falling off. The 15 month headstart was the only reason it's taken this long.
The ps4 is trending really healthily and software support is finally ramping up. Psvr, PS pro, FFXV, Yakuza still to hit this year. Also next year most games will lose their ps3 support which will help further. Good times ahead!
