Forums - General Discussion - Has anyone dated an older woman?

I am 21, she is 28. She is hot and I never dated an older woman before, what should I expect? I've seen her for about a month now. We take walks at the park and go to resturants. What are your guys' experiences dating an older woman?

-removed. Lame? Maybe. Don't feel as open to sharing as I did last night. Sorry.

My first girlfriend was older than me, but not by much; I was 23 and she was 26.

While I don't have extensive experience with women, (only ever been in two relationships) there was a lot less drama than in my only other relationship, which was with a 19 year old. Perhaps that's down to my first gf being older and therefore more mature, or perhaps it's just because to the kind of people they were individually.

I'm 16 my gf is 18 we've been dating for 2 years now. Only girl I've ever dated and I'm the only boy shes dated XD

Not really, no. But I did have a couple of dates with a 22-year-old lady when I was 20. Probably would have had at least a few more, but I had some really bad luck. Too bad, because she was pretty great.

So it seems like no one here dated a girl 7+ years older like me? What an age difference!

I've never dated anyone over 25 and I'm 36. I think the only time in my life I dated an older woman than me was when I was 17 and the girl was 19. After that, it's been the opposite. My current GF is 24.

As to my advice? Good luck. In my experience knowing older women, they're not nearly as fun, easy going and spontaneous. At 28, most women are getting serious about things and want to slow down. Obviously, that's not always the case but I've never met anyone older than their early 20's that isn't like that.

Plus, women peak physically at like 24 so yeah, there's all that. There's no way around the fact that their asses and boobs start going south in their late 20's. lol.

Yes... I'm a shallow jerk, I know.

Personally I'd be suspicious of your partner. It's very queer that she would pursue someone so young. Generally women are attracted to older men for obvious reasons - financial stability, job, assets, knowledge of women, etc. You seem to understand this at least at a subconscious level since you made this thread in the first place.

That being said, if she has her life together and isn't bothered by the age difference and life experience difference then more power to both of you. I wish you both great success.

I'm proud of this guy cuz I'm exactly the same. 34 now and with a 22 year old. The oldest you should date is 25. Stick to young ones. They'll do anything you want. When they turn 25, dump them.

TIme for storytime with Uncle Burny again:

When I was a sophty in college, I dated a woman 27 1/2 years older. I was 20-21 at the time, and saw her for about two years. And our "dates" mostly consisted of me coming over to hit it, while we conversated, argued and slept in between sessions. She was childish as fuck, with a Peter Pan complex and no sense of social responsibility or desire to be more than a lazy layoubout who leeched off of family and the government. I was still pretty immature myself, so it was a  big learning experience for me not just in terms of understanding the dynamics of a relationship with a much older woman, but understanding relationships in general. Want to know what's crazy? Her kids were all around the same age as me, and I had a class right next to her daughter and didn't even know it at the time! Small world.

A few years later, I began seeing a woman about 21 years older this time. I treated this one more like a traditional relationship. I actually took her on dates and allowed us to use titles like "boyfriend" and "girlfriend." Despite being in her mid-40s, divorced and with two kids about my age (man, I what if I would have met her daughter first? lol), this was only the second relationship she had ever been in. Once again, I felt like the older one in the couple. She was a nice gal, gorgeous too. But I got the sense that she was dating me due to some midlife crisis born of the desire to feel young again. I had some fun at first, but I eventually got tired of feel like I was in a meaningless high school relationship that really wasn't going anywhere.

Just earlier this year, I had a brief relationship with someone about a decade older. We've known each other for a few years now, but I was actually in a serious relationship at the time (!!!!!!) and never thought of her more than a passing face. Through a funny circumstance of events one day, we began talking and dating. I'll give her credit for having her shit together the most out of the three when it comes to the rest of life. But man, was she a cloudcuckoolander.  Very nice girl; we still enjoy chatting in small doses, but I quickly got frustrated with our relationship when I realized that it was impossible to have any meaningful conversations with her. Imagine Brian's blonde idiot girlfriend in Family Guy, only 40 and with far less incentives to keep you around. Pro Tip: when you hook up with somebody, bring something more to the table than, "You're so sexy!" That shit gets old once the other person busts a nut.
