I don't like Islam. Many muslims I know are horrid people, but that has more to do with them and not their religion.

In terms of terrorism, that also doesnt have much to do with Islam here in the west, and more to do with mental health. (Rigby murder and nightclub shooting)

For London, the influx of Muslims hhas brought a lot of misery to several communities and businesses (ie genuine indian or south indian non halal resturants being bullied / shut down by fake inspections etc. Horrid stuff really, like I said I distance myself from muslims because they generally are terrible people to deal with especially in business.

Hearing about the businesses is horrible. Pretty unfortunate people have to deal with the risk of being closed down just for having non-halal meat.

Didn't Christianity forbid bacon too? If I recall, it stated it in Leviticus.

Both faiths are based on the same early teachings. There is probably a lot of cross over.

My thoughts, faith should be individual not organised, take that as you will.

Hmm, pie.

It does happen unfortunately.

But as I said, not entirely due to the religion but more so the type of person/s behind such schemes.

Another one the the illegal building of mosques, where the tactic here is claim the building is a school but build a mosque inside it anyway for the local community to use. While this isn't a problem in itself as most people who go to mosques are harmless, it attracts the wrong type of business and opens the floodgates for more scenarios. And the authorities are so afraid of offending they let them get away with it.

The more I think of it, it's seem the issues i mentioned are really only to do with certain greedy individuals have found loopholes to have their way and using "Islamic practices" as a way of achieving it.

Why? Why are these threads even allowed? We know exactly his goal when he makes these.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

It's like christianity without bacon.

I understand what you are saying, but this is a big misconception about christianity. Its normal for people to say "yes but the bible tell you to kill a woman with rocks if she commits adultery".

The point is, not because it is in the bible, it needs to be followed. Let me explain..

All those rules, like not eating bacon, not working on saturday, eye for an eye, being obligated to have beards and many many other, were part of the Law given to God to Moses, which is the Mosaic Law (maybe I mispelled Mosaic here, but think as Moses's law). It needed to be followed by all jews and Israeli at that time. When we say Christ was perfect and never sinned, it means he never broke any of those ver very numerous laws. He was the only one to do so, therefore, he was parfect, as Adam.

After Christ death, a NEW LAW was given, which comprises of all teachings of Christ and the Apostoles. And most important, they were FREE of the Mosaic Law. Which means they could start eating bacon. The old law was revogated, the christians didnt need to follow it anymore. Think of it as a reform. Just 2 examples: they were now free to give any amount they wanted to the temple, not 10%. They should marry only ONE woman. Work on saturdays. And eat bacon.

So I hate when people say "yes christians also are violent, the bible says you should kill someone who does whatever" because it is not true at all. The best example is that Christ refused to go eye for an eye, but instead "offer the other face".

Sorry for the long post

I think it promotes a terrible way of life and it's quite invasive into the lives of people who practice it as well as the ones who don't, but need to accommodate to it.

as several people have said, it needs to go through the enlightenment period. the muslim world needs to have their voltaires and nietzsches as well to help the societies become more independent of their religious culture.

there are a few reasons why that reformation will be harder to achieve, which is to say, there are specific differences between islam and other religions, like the fact that to convert to islam a person just needs to say they are muslim, but leaving islam might carry the death penalty.

so it's pretty much like a virus in a society, easy to get in, extremely hard to get out.

full disclosure, I'm an atheist who always lived in western societies.

This should be good :)

Most religons speak about some type of violence in their respective book. Its against non believers, LGBTQ people etc. But most people of these Religons don't usally spread this type of hate while a small percentage of people do. This leads to terrorism. IMO some Religons in general is pretty bad(islam,Christianity, Judaism). Generally most people that have a religon aren't  mental enough to kill other or blow up shit for their religion.

Oh, forgot to add that what I stated above are for the vast majority of christian religions, not 100%. There are some that, for example, still does not work on saturdays for example.
