Considering the drastically polarizing opinions (moreso than any Nintendo game in years), and how it's had the worst opening in Japan for the series, makes me wonder if Star Fox Zero has officially killed it's own franchise.

300k sales already too much for such a cheap and lazy game. Nintendo definitely made profit on SFZ.

It survived Command, it can definitely survive Zero

I'm one of those people that think Star Fox Zero gets a mulligan because of the controls and awkward 2nd screen implementation. They're such specific problems for a large amount of people that Nintendo may see that it wasn't the Star Fox formula that was at fault and give the series another chance on the NX. Plus, the game itself (and Star Fox Guard) were essentially Miyamoto trying to justify the Wii U's 2nd screen since he played a pivotal role in its implementation into the Wii U so I don't think the company will damn the franchise because of that.

No, but don't expect another game anytime soon.

If somebody has killed Star Fox at this point, that was it's own creator: Miyamoto. The game doesn't have the fault.

The game is great and those who played the SNES and 64 versions like myself like Zero. I don't care what Metacritic says. Its a fun game worthy of a good sequal.

The hell are you on about, no we don't.

What dont you like about it?

I don't know. I mean, it opened with about 300.000 in its first week worldwide. Not amazing, but it's not horrible considering its on Wii U. We'll just see where Nintendo wants to go from here. You never know. I mean, did anyone expect FE Awakening to be what it was despite Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance's low sales? Time will tell from here.

I think Splatoon kinda makes that excuse redundant now. When Nintendo releases a game on Wii U that floats the fanbase's boat then the game sells well.

Star fox skipped an entire generation, and then came out with a pretty disappointing game in the opinion of a lot of people who have actually played the game. Suggests to me that Nintento may shelve the franchise unless someone can come up with something really compelling to refresh the game.

time for a reboot. gameplay and all. lets use a genre that's still relevent shall we?

Japan market is very different than other markets, Zelda WW HD and TP HD also bombed there. I am sure Star Fox Zero sales at West are much better.
At end, StarFox Zero is very good StarFox game and I think this will be reset of series.

It probably has put it on ice for a while. The time to relaunch it was in the midst of the Wii era with pointer controls and straight forward gameplay.

I think unfortunately Miyamoto was hellbent on showing the dual screen game play works well and the game suffers for it.
